The minds that brought you Hillcrest’s Cafe W and the chef who brought small plates dining to San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter Via Confidential Restaurant and Loft are excited to announce their newest project “Bite”. Bite is located at 1417 University avenue in Hillcrest just east of Richmond avenue and promises to bring a new level of dining excitement to the area. Chef Chris Walsh has a long history in Hillcrest and San Diego and hopes his newest creation will tantalize the taste buds in a whole new way.

This attractively restored 1920's structure is home to Hawthorn's, the new incarnation of the venerable San Diego dining establishment, Fifth and Hawthorn, which closed in spring of this year.
