Looks like Paula Abdul passed on her opportunity to host the new reboot of Star Search. According to a network source, negotiations with Paula were difintly in the works but ultimately broke down when she didn’t respond by the given deadline.

“A deadline was given and no agreement was reached. And she was offered a lot of money. As of right now the deal is dead. It is theoretically possible it could be brought back to life but the source said that’s highly unlikely… It looks like we hit the end of the road with Paula,”

Still crossin’ my fingers that she’s passing up all these deal because she’s already attached to Simon Cowell’s X-Factor.

Since new rumors have surfaced that Paula Abdul signed a deal to host ABC’s new adaptation of Star Search, the blogosphere has been a-buzz… But leave it to Paula to put a huge “question mark” on the speculation and to confuse us even more!

HEY PAULA… Stop fucking with us and just tell us what show you are going to be bringing all of your pills and antics onto!!! X-Factor?! Star Search?!! Maybe a climactic Idol return after Ellen realizes she’s too big for that show and walks out?!!!

NOOO!! Please say it ain’t so, Paula! Word on the blogosphere is that Paula Abdul is set to host the new Star Search on ABC!! What happened to all the rumors about Simon Cowell bringing her into his new show, X-Factor?!! As much as I love Paula, she’s just not as interesting when she has hosting duties all by herself. Just look to her solo stint hosting VH1′s Divas Live… Not very good! What makes her really “wacky” and interesting enought to watch is when you put her in a panel, interacting with other people. Hopefully the producers of Star Search will work out her role in the show so she has someone to disagree and argue with…
