I am absolutely in love with Rihanna’s new single “Stay“! She slayed it on the Grammyslastnight and today she’s released the accompanying visual for the beautiful ballad. The clip is very simple… Maybe a little too simple for my liking but it definitely captures the emotion of the song through Rihanna’s performance.
On a side note… I’ve been playing the new Liam Keegan & Anton Powers remix of “Stay” all weekend and had a pretty great dancefloor response to this gorgeous bootleg! Check it out…
Rihanna’s new single “Stay” is a very beautiful and mature ballad for pop music’s reigning bad-girl… Definitely now something I would expect to hear banging over the speakers of the club! But believe it or not, the song has been remixed by Bass King & X-Vertigo into a surprisingly impressive EDM bootleg! So impressive, Tiesto debuted their production in his pod-cast last week! Take a listen…
DJ DigiMark has just released another EPIC mashup that is hands-down one of my more favorite mashes that he’s put together! This one brings Rihanna’s “Diamonds” and Britney Spears’ Femme Fatal album track “Drop Dead Beautiful” together into a perfect union! Mark uses the Peter Rauhofer remix of “Diamonds” as a backdrop for the mash and got very creative with the play on words in his production. You would almost swear that Brit and Ri-Ri where actually in the studio together singing back and forth from one another at the 1:45 mark of the song! Take a listen…
As most of you may already know, Rihanna’s current #1 hit “Diamonds” was written by the amazingly talented Sia. As much as I love Rihanna’s version of the song, I have been hoping and praying for a Sia demo version to surface because the song sounds like it was crafted for Sia’s own voice. While the studio demo has yet to surface (as far as I’m aware of) we did recently get the next best thing – Sia performing a flawless live rendition of the track! So what are you waiting for? Take a listen to Sia’s take on “Diamonds“…
After patiently waiting for Rihanna’s music video for her latest single “Diamonds” I’m sorry to report to you that while the video was released today… I kept fell asleep halfway through clip because it’s so ridiculously boring that I can’t give you a proper review. Just watch it for yourself and write a review of your own in the comments section if you disagree or if you’re suffering from a nasty case of insomnia, just watch right before bedtime - It should do the trick!
Rihanna is preparing to release her next studio album Unapologetic on Nov. 19th and has released a pretty lengthly album teaser to give you a glimpse into the new offering. As always, Ri-Ri is trying to perform a balancing act to pass herself off as a dance diva and a hip-hop artist at the same time by making the album grab-bag of both genres. This one leans a little more heavily towards the hip-hop side however, which I’ve never been a fan of from Rihanna. (And by judging from her past single choices/chart performances, neither is the rest of the world.) With cameo’s by Chris Brown, David Guetta & Eminem, I’m sure this album will appeal to some but after listening to the previews, I think this would have been a good time for Rihanna to finally take that long over due break from releasing back to back albums. (Not even feeling the Guetta track!) Sorry but this one is boring as hell!
Take a listen and sound off on Rihanna’s Unapologetic attempt at a new album in the comments section!\

Simple & sweet or uninspired & boring? I don’t know how I feel about it… Oh wait a minute, it’s not that I don’t know how I feel about it… It’s more than I’m indifferent since we are suffering a serious case of Rihanna overload at the moment. I love me some Ri-Ri but I don’t think I’m ready for this new era of vocals sang through her nasal passages, forced accents & #hashtagged #songtitles. :-/
Rihanna’s new single “Diamonds” is finally here and despite the tacky, drug centric artwork – the song itself is actually a beautiful and pretty mature record for Rihanna… Probably because Sia had a hand in writting this ‘gem’. I think the dance diva actually has a chance to break the 4-on-the-floor mold and score a huge hit with this mid-tempo ballad! Check it out and tell me if you’re feeling the ‘all grown up’ Rihanna…
Whether you’re ready for it or not… Rihanna is ready to drop a new single on us your titled “Diamonds” this week and the pop princess has already started spinning the wheels of the hype-machine by unveiling the artwork and details about the new tune. I for one could probably use a break from Ri-Ri but she’s definitely generating some excitement among her ‘Navy’ leading up to the song’s Weds release date!
As you can see from the official artwork posted above, “Diamonds” will be a song about smoking blunts. OK, maybe not nut seriously… What is up with Rihanna’s obsession with being pop music’s “I’m not a role-model” artist lately? This artwork will definitely drum up some controversy and buzz but it just does not get me excited to hear the song it’s associated with at all! I’ll reserve judgement about the song till I hear it but I hope it’s better than packaging.
Speaking of the song… “Diamonds” was produced by Stargate – The production team responsible for her songs “Unfaithful,” “Don’t Stop the Music,” “Take A Bow,” “Rude Boy,” “Only Girl (In the World),” “What’s My Name” and “Talk That Talk“. Rihanna recently described the new single as a “laid back… Happy, hippie record“.
I’m hoping the song does well for Rihanna… Not to be a pessimist but in the past when she’s chosen “laid back” records as lead singles… They didn’t fair to well for the “We Found Love” singer. As a matter of fact, most of her mid/down-tempo records don’t do well for Rihanna lately. I guess we’ll have to wait till Weds to find out if her modern day “hippie” music soars or bores…
Last week Rihanna announced her new Diamonds world-tour which left many of us to wonder why she chose the random title… This week the mystery is one step closer to being solved. Apparently Ri-Ri has a new single titled “Diamonds” rumored to be set for a Sept. 17th release date (in just three days) and a new album to follow in November. At first I wasn’t going to post about this rumor until I had some solid proof, but after Rihanna tweeted this pic (above) which seems to feature lyrics lifted from the rumored song… I think it’s safe to assume that there is some truth to the rumblings!
As much as I love Rihanna, I was really hoping she would take a longer break between albums this time around but I guess we’re just going to have to get use to the idea that she has a whole new batch of material that will be played to death on radio coming our way just around the corner. Brace yourselves…
Princess of pop Rihanna surprised a packed audience in France when she took to the stage with Coldplay on their current tour to perform 2 songs with the band! Obviously one of the numbers she performed was her duet with Coldplay, “Princess of China” but she also treated fans to an acoustic version of her smash hit “Umbrella” with Chris Martin accompanying her on piano! Of the two performances RiRi sounded a bit shaky on “Princess…” but not surprisingly, she really soared on her own single “Umberalla“. Check out both of the special performances below….
Kelly Clarkson has done it again… She’s covered someone else’s song, singing it better than the original artists and OWNING it as her own! Check out Kell vocally slaying Coldplay & Rihanna’s “Princess of China” on Live Lounge…
FINALLY!! Today saw the release of the highly anticipated video for Coldplay’s collaboration with Rihanna “Princess of China“! The martial arts film inspired music video is visually stunning and was well worth the wait! Check it out…
Rihanna took to the American Idol stage tonight for the series’ big finale and performed her current hit “Where Have You Been“! I must say that while Rihanna isn’t exactly the best pop vocalist out there and most of the contestants in the show can sing circles around her, she made up for it with her showmanship and did a great job tonight with the over all performance! Check out Rihanna owning the stage on Idol in a way that only she can…
Well, we all knew it was bound to happen… Rihanna and Chris Brown are done playing nice with one another and are feuding once again! This time around, the former lovebirds have taken their feud to the hard, cold pages of Twitter! What sparked Rihanna VS Chris Brown 2012 was a hip hop freestyle track that Brown posted on his page for his fans earlier today. In this bootleg track, Chris demonstrates his AMAZING freestyling ability over a Kanye West track titled “Theraflu“. Apparently Rihanna didn’t enjoy Brown’s musical gift and took offense to a particular line in teh song which said; ”Don’t fuck with my old bitch, it’s like a bad fur/An industry n—a done had her”. Ri-Ri unfollowed Chris on Twitter over the supposed reference and posted “Aw, poor dat #neaux1currrrr,” on her own Twitter page. Not too sure what that means really, but I’m sure it’s Bajan for “FUCK OFF CHRIS!“. This, of course, promoted Chris to retaliate by unfollowing her as well then posting this on his page; “Assumptions! I didn’t say any names so if u took offense to it then its something you feel guilty about,” which I’m pretty sure means “YEAH, I MEANT YOU BITCH!” in douche-bag!
So I think I am officially over these two attention whores and all of their childish, in-your-face (no pun intended, Rihanna) drama!!! I think its time for both of these artists to invest in some therapy and work out their issue behind closed doors instead of all over the Internet! And I suggest no more “collaborations” for a while unless they are collaborating in a joint-therapy session together!
