Woke up this morning to find the official remixes to Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” in my mailbox. Wish I would had these for my set last night. The energy at my club was amazing and the crowd would have totally appreciated one of these! Check em out… I think Wideboys delivered the winner in this bunch, though I also like the other two mixes by Chew Fu and Low Sunday. I also read the Jonathan Peters also remixed this track but his mix was not delivered with the remix package. Hmmm… Wonder why?

We all knew that Chris Brown was a douche bag, but I’m actually surprised with the new all-time low that he’s resorting too… Begging! Yes, Mr. Brown is still feeling the backlash of brutally beating his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, and is literally begging his fans (which are self loathing girls & fellow woman beaters) to help get him back on the radio! The fading star took to SayNow.com to leave a his fans a desperate plea for their help…
“I ain’t never really did this but right now I need all of my fans help. A lot of radio stations aren’t playing my records. They are not being that supportive and I wouldn’t expect them to. It’s on the fans and what you guys do in your power to bring me back. That’s all I need is you guys and nothing else will do that except for the fans…”
The begging, doesn’t stop there… There’s a lot more desperation but I’ll let you listen for yourself…
This week, Rihanna took the stage in Germany to perform her hit “Rude Boy” on the Echo Awards. Ri-Ri got a little naughty in her much talked about performance with 2 mechanical robots that danced and groped the Barbadian bombshell on stage. Pretty awesome!
Just when I thought that Rihanna’s “Rudeboy” was unsalvageable as far as a dance remix… Wideboys have completely turned it out into a dancefloor anthem!!! LOVE THIS VERSION! And love the remix has been put to video as well!
Looks like Rihanna is about to come roaring back with a new album that she told MTV news will be more upbeat and lighthearted than her previous effort, Rated R. Producer Sean Garrett has contributed a song to the new project and believes that he just gave Rihanna her next radio smash!
“The record I gave her was very, very positive, very big. It’s a fucking smash! I gave her a humongous radio record. It’s just so infectious. It’s about getting past any drama and just being happy to be alive. It’s an encouraging record. It feels great and it’s got great tempo.”
Garrett also revealed that he was not a big fan of the “dark” tone of her previous effort;
“Whenever I think of Rihanna, it makes me happy. To be honest, I wasn’t really that excited about hearing her in a dark zone. I love Rihanna for being that girl… She’s like the lil’ fantasy chick—nice brown skin, beautiful woman with a Caribbean swagger that’s ridiculous.”
I think we’re all glad Rihanna’s ready to move on from her “dark” phase. Garrett believes that if Rihanna releases his contribution as a single, she will be guaranteed a sure fire hit;
“I made sure that it was bulletproof. It should be a single unless something crazy happens. It’s hot as f**k. I think it’s a record that’s gonna stay on the radio for a long time.”
The mother of Jasmina Anema (The 6-year-old girl who died of leukemia in January) is speaking out in disappointment against Rihanna who developed a close friendship with the sick little girl but has not sent her condolences to her family since her passing. This weekend, someone posted the following message on the ONEFORJASMINA Twitter account which is run by Mrs. Anema;
“It has been a month since Jasmina’s passing. Still not even a card or text message from Rihanna. Did she use my child for a publicity stunt?”
The post has since been deleted and Thea Anema has denied ever writing the message to People Magazine, but she did acknowledge her hurt and disappointed towards Rihanna for not reaching out after Jasmina’s death.
“Friends have helped me with all kinds of stuff and many know the passwords to my personal e-mail, the Caringbridge site and also Twitter. Although I did not Tweet this particular one, I do wish that Rihanna had responded to me on Jasmina’s passing. It would have meant the world to me.”
However, Anema does say that she is very grateful for everything that Rihanna did for Jasmina while she was still alive and that Jasmine “adorned her”.
I love Rihanna and hope she breaks her silence and does something special for Jasmina’s family. It’s never too late Ri-Ri…
Rihanna’s latest, “Rude Boy,” has just received the house music rework by Tommie Sunshine… Not super impressed with this one. Not Tommie’s fault though, I just think this song just doesn’t translate well as a house remix.

Katy Perry had a string of hits off of her debut album One of the Boys but is a little nervous about being able to maintain the success with her follow up, especially since she has some stiff competition in the female pop world…
“You’ve got Lady Gaga, who’s like, from outer space; you’ve got Ke$ha, who’s the beer-drinking, house-party girl; and then you’ve got Rihanna, who’s transforming the urban world into her own outer space… But I feel like you’re missing an Alanis Morissette, 2010. I love how she was a voice for a lot of people who couldn’t explain their feelings. But it’s not like I’m not gonna compete. I love a good dose of healthy competition. It’s not going to be the same thing that they’re doing.”
Katy goes on to explain that she would like to transition into a more mature & dark vibe with her next effort while keeping it fun;
“Sometimes I feel like I’m more of a Taylor Swift. She tells stories, and I think that’s what resonated with a lot of people. Some of the kid shit I’ve grown out of completely. I feel like when I explain my transition visually, people understand. I’m taking it out of the Shirley Temple, Betty Boop, Lichtenstein kind of thing. It’s still fun, but it’s a bit darker. It’s not as annoying. Sometimes I feel like a big strawberry with a face on it. If you do something over and over again it’s like Chinese water torture. If it hits your head enough times, you want to die. You have to just evolve.”
Dodger’s star Matt Kemp threw a b-day party for his girlfriend, Rihanna, which included a fun lil’ surprise guest. Bridget the Midget… A pint-sized exotic dancer that gave Ri-Ri a lap dance! I love how Rihanna totally played into it!
Last night I DJed an AMAZING gig at Hillcrest Mardi Gras here in San Diego, CA. My crowd was effen amazing! They were on fire all night and made this gig one of my most memorable EVER! I also have to give props to some of the stellar productions that made my set so… Dave Aude’s remix of Kelis‘ “Acapella” was a crowd favorite last night as well as the Richard Vission mix of Eva Simons’ “Silly Boy.”
I wanted to give a very special shout out to DJ’s From Mars whose remix productions gave my set that little extra somethin’, somethin’ that drove the crowd BANANA’S!!! I ended my set with their incredible remix of Jay-Z, Kanye West & Rihanna’s “Run This Town” mashed with Bach’s “Mass in B Minor.” I’ve actually posted the video for this production before but if you didn’t listen to it the first time around, check out the genius behind this remix!
