House legends Daft Punk have returned to bring back a little “funk” into the EDM scene! Check out their brand new bass slappin’ single “Get Lucky” which features a little assistance from Pharrell & Nile Rodgers. It’s a 70′s throwback jam that totally grows on you very quickly and will be stuck in your head after only a few listens!
Looks like Madonna’s next full studio album might end up being a Hard Candy Part II. (Which I’m not complaining about.) Neptunes producer Pharrell Williams has confirmed that he will be working with the big ‘M‘ on her new album this new year. Pharrell produced a hand-full of songs for her previous album Hard Candy and was responsible for hits such as “Give It To Me” & “”. I’m wondering if she will tap Timbaland again since he also worked on the HC LP. If she’s heading in that direction once again… I hope M collaborates with Will.i.am as well. That could be a union made in music heaven if you ask me.
The unreleased Madonna tracks flood-gates have opened and we have been flooded with some really cool gems in the last few months! Check out this new track called “Infinity” which turns out to be the humble beginnings of Madge’sHard Candy track “Give It To Me“. Love the beat on this one… But glad that it eventually morphed into the track we all know and love.
Oh yeah… Did I also mention that this version was produced by Timbaland? “Give It To Me” that appeared on her album was produced by Pharrell.

French electro-pop princess, Uffie, is back with a new single called “ADD SUV“. For those of you that haven’t heard of this girl, she’s been doing her thing overseas for quite some time now and many people claim that Ke$ha has been jacking her style. (I don’t necessarily agree with that comparison.) Uffie received a little help from Pharrell on this new electro-hop number that was produced by one of Madonna’s former go-to guys, French DJ/producer, Mirawais. Uffie’s new album Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans drops in the US June 8th and in Europe May 31st.

Shakira was in the studio with Pharrell recording music for a new Spanish follow up to She Wolf, but in a recent interview the Columbian diva says that the new album is now shaping up to being a bilingual affair;
“With this next album that I’m preparing right now, it’s gonna have Spanish songs and English songs as well, and also some Latin songs.”
“I’d already written half of this album and it was always the plan to release a Spanish album next. I’ve felt very inspired in the last month, so I went for it. I started writing some material in English, too, which I’m going to use on this album.”
Shakira also says that she has an amazing working chemistry with Pharrell…
“Pharrell is really great. We have lots of chemistry together. I learned a lot from him when we worked on my last album ‘She Wolf’. He’s so fast in the studio, whereas I’m usually so slow. I take so much time on one decision; I go in circles sometimes, whereas he is very immediate.”
When PharrellWilliams isn’t too busy in the studio makin hit records for the likes of Gwen Stefani or Madonna, he likes to harass fast food restaurant employees in other countries. Don’t believe me? Just watch this clip of Pharrell in a closed McDonald’s in France. At least he did a little song and dance for the poor victims of his crazy episode.
Add Shakira to the list of 2009 comebacks. That’s right, our favorite Colombian/Lebanese diva is set to release her new album in the near future and has already worked on new material with Pharrell and Wyclef John. I’m not surprised that she’s working with these Hip Hop heavy hitters on the new album, especially since she’s already collaborated with Wyclef on the hit “Hips Don’t Lie.” I’m actually excited to see what direction she’s heading in with her collaboration with Pharrell. It’s been a long time since we’ve heard from Shakira. As a matter of fact, I think that the last time we’ve heard any music from her, she was rolling around on the ground with Beyonce in their collaboration, “Beautiful Liar.” Bring on the hip shakin’ music!!!
Those lucky New Yorkers… Madonna concert goers got a special treat in New York this weekend when Pharrell joined her Madgeisty on stage for the numbers, “The Beat Goes On” and “Give It To Me.” That would have been amazing to see. Looks like a lot of fun, check out the fan made footage…
Rockers, Fall Out Boy, have just donated $50,000 dollars to the “No On Prop 8″ campaign. For those of you who are not in the know… Prop 8 is the “protect marriage” proposition in that if passed, would define marriage as ONLY being valid or recognized between a man and a woman. This would overturn the Supreme Court decision to legalize gay marriage in CA. Thank’s to “straight but not narrow” celeb’s like “Fall Out Boy” who are fighting for our cause… we may put this issue to rest once and for all in Nov. If you are a CA residence, do your part and VOTE NO ON PROP 8!! Even if it’s the only thing you vote for on the ballot this year.
