Michael Jackson Wax Figure Gone Wrong…

by: Taj | June 25th, 2010

Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in New York really needs to go back to the drawing bored when it comes to their wax figure of Micheal Jackson. Check out their “replica” of  MJ that makes him look like he should hold the title; Queen of Pop. I mean, sure… Michael Jackson did not have the most masculine facial features and we’ve all heard the “Michael & La Toya Jackson are the same person” punch-line at one time or another, but this wax figure is ridiculous! He looks more like that British woman who paid millions of dollars on plastic surgery to look like Michael (pictured below) than he looks like himself.

The Industry Pays Tribute To Michael Jackson One Year Later…

by: Taj | June 23rd, 2010

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year after the passing of the great Michael Jackson! Check out this video compilation from Billboard.com that features many of todays biggest names in the music industry (Including Christina Aguilera, Jason Derulo, The Jonas Brothers & Sarah Mclachlan) paying their respects to the King of Pop. It’s amazing to think about how many of our favorite entertainers today grew up on and were heavily influenced by good ol’ MJ.

“Music never dies.”

I had to move the video after the jump because I couldn’t figure out how to turn off that annoying commercial on auto-start… Read the rest of this entry »

Rihanna’s New Album To Be The Next ‘Thriller’?

by: Taj | June 16th, 2010

Rihanna’s label is boasting that her new album is full of hits from beging to end and is on par with Michael Jackson’s legendary Thriller album. Bu Thiam, Def Jam’s A&R guy, took to his blog to post the following lofty statement about Rihanna’s next effort;

Rihanna is coming along incredibly. I’m trying to push her to where every song will be a hit from 1 to 12. I’m talking about NO album fillers. Our bar for this album is Michael Jackson’sThriller’. We got smashes from Stargate, Ester Dean, Mel & Mus and Rock City. We’re definitely going in with Ne-Yo, The-Dream and other writers and producers that have always been a part of her creative process since day one. She’s great to work with and very hands on with every song that’s being written and produced. She has visual concepts for just about every song. It’s already giving me the feel of a timeless album, and right now is her time.”

I don’t know if comparing your artists work to MJ’s Thriller album is ever a good idea before it’s even been released but at least they are setting a high (some might say delusional) standard for themselves. Don’t get me wrong… I love Rihanna and want her to release the best album of her career next time around but let the fans decide weather it’s on par with Thriller rather than the A&R guy telling us that it is.

In other Rihanna new album news… David Guetta recently spoke to MTV about his (possible) work with Ri-Ri and promises to have the “Rude Boy” singer dancing to his signature club banger sound;

“Well, you know I’m a DJ, so I make beats that make you wanna dance. I think she was one of the first to do that in that urban world, so you know, I think it would be good for her to do it again.”

He also stated that while his track for Rihanna is ready to go in the studio, their schedules are the thing that can get in the way of the pair collaborating.

“We’re thinking of doing something together… Yeah [the track's ready], we just have to make sure it’s OK with her schedule and my schedule cause this is what happens. Unfortunately, it’s not only about the music anymore, it’s also about schedules which is really boring but, you know.”

Rihanna is one artist that I think would be a PERFECT fit for Guetta so I really hope this collaboration comes to light. I’m a little confused however why he says that he needs to get her into the studio… Back in May when he appeared on a French radio talk show he played a very short clip of a new song that he recorded with Rihanna. (LISTEN HERE) What ever happened to that track, I wonder…?

Rumor Has It: Michael Jackson Alive & Posing As Burn Victim, Dave Dave…

by: Taj | May 11th, 2010

I’ve heard some weird Michael Jackson rumors in the past, but this one is just so strange that it’s kinda disturbing to me. The latest M.J. faked his death conspiracy theories are claiming the King of Pop is posing as a famous 33 year old burn victim named Dave Dave that Michael befriended as a child.

For those of you that don’t remember Dave Dave (or David Rothenberg), his tragic story made headline news when he was only six years old. Dave was set on fire by his own father who was seeking revenge on his mother during a bitter child custody case. The poor kid suffered 90% injuries and was scarred badly but survived. Michael reached out to little Dave to invite him to his Neverland ranch and eventually befriended the little boy and his family. He even paid for a lot of Dave’s surgeries over the years.

As an adult, Dave legally changed his last name to “Dave” so that he could liberate himself from his horrible father’s surname. (Understandably so) Dave Dave maintained a friendship with Michael over the years and was invited to and attended Michael’s funeral after his passing.

Now some Michael Jackson fanatics on Michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com are convinced that the King of Pop is alive and well and is posing as Dave Dave to avoid being discovered. They argue that Dave’s mannerisms and voice are identical to Michael’s (which is kinda true) and that his eye color has changed from blue/green to brown. (That part I’m not so sure about.) This whole rumor gives me the creeps… Not because I believe it’s true but because there are people out there that actually do!!! That idea is disturbing all on its own! Which leads me to ask the question… If M.J. is now posing as Dave Dave, what happened to the real Dave Dave according to these conspiracy theorists?! Did Michael have him killed off…? Or did he pay for some kind of miracle reconstructive surgery to make him look like a normal man in exchange for his identity?! Ok, now I’m theorizing… I really need to stop!!

I’m a little too tired to be witty right now, so how about I leave it to you guys to caption this one in the comments section…

Michael Jackson’s Doctor Halted CPR To Hide Drug Vials…

by: Taj | March 23rd, 2010

Uh-oh… Michael Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, might be in some serious shit after these new allegations that have just surfaced. According to an eye witness, Conrad supposedly halted performing CPR on the dying pop star and delayed calling paramedics so he could collect and hide drug vials at the scene. These allegations are coming from Michael’s logistics director, Alberto Alvarez, who was by MJ’s side as he was dying. WOW… That’s really shady! Would things have worked out differently for Michael and his family if he had someone performing CPR to the best of their ability or called the paramedics sooner?

Michael Jackson Scores LARGEST Record Deal In History From The Grave…

by: Taj | March 16th, 2010

Michael Jackson may no longer be with us, but his estate is hard at work making sure that his memory will never be forgotten anytime soon! As a matter of fact, MJ’s estate just scored the late star a record deal worth up to $250 million dollars – with a guaranteed $200 mill!!! This is the LARGEST music deal ever made in the history of music! The contract calls for 10 projects over a 7 year time frame so I think we can look forward to hearing new Michael Jackson in the not too distant future. MJ’s camp claims that he has enough unreleased material for at least 3 or 4 new albums… I’m sure they’ll throw in a couple “remastered” greatest hits albums in the mix to help meet the 7 required projects.
