Remix Treatment: Lady Gaga Ft. Christina Aguilera – Do What You Want (Official Remixes)

by: Taj | February 11th, 2014

Ah, what the hell… More Gaga remixes! This time around, the label got it right and has just dropped the official remix package INCLUDING remixes of  her duet version with CHRISTINA AGUILERA!! My only gripe… The vocals sound like $#!% in most of them! Did they not provide the producers with a proper acapella?! I think I’m sticking with the Bit Error mashup!

Remix Treatment: Lady Gaga Ft. R Kelly – Do What You Want (Bit Error VS Moto Blanco Remix)

by: Taj | February 10th, 2014

So I usually don’t blog very much about Lady Gaga… Mainly because I got tired of all the obnoxious disputes I would get into with her crazed “little monsters” but every now and then, I’ll make an exception. Today is one of those days thanks to this awesome Bit Error mashup remix that uses a Moto Blanco instrumental as a backdrop for the mix. Her label has totally dropped the ball on releasing any official dance remixes for the song so thank God we have amazing bootlegs like this one to save the day! Check it out and if you enjoy it, feel free to purchase it off of Legitmix!

New Music: Lady Gaga Ft. Christina Aguilera – Do What U Want (STUDIO VERSION)

by: Taj | December 31st, 2013

So here’s one post to ring in the New Year with a bang!! I’m breaking my “no Lady Gaga zone” rule for this special New Year’s Eve post after the release of the anew tudio version of Gaga & Christina Aguilera’s duet version of “Do What U Want“. I actually already liked the song in it’s original form but when Christina jumped onboard to show Gaga how it’s really done, I’m officially obsessed!!! I mean, I’ve always though the song sounded like it was crafted for Xtina in the first place so it came as no surprise to me that she sounds amazing on it! While I definitely think Christina’s bionic vocals abilities steal the show on the new version of song, it is nice the two buried the hatched and they really do sound good together. Take a listen and make sure you all have a happy and safe New Year!

New Music: Cher Ft. Lady Gaga – The Greatest Thing

by: Taj | August 13th, 2013

So just a few days after Lady Gaga’s new single “Applause”  leaked early online, sbecomeone also took the liberty of leaking the Cher and Gaga duet titled “The Greatest Thing” that was recorded for Cher’s forthcoming album. The song is pretty decent in an uber-cheesy kinda way and I’m definitely liking it better than “Applause” which is just ok. Unfortunately, this song will not be making it onto the album thanks to Gaga & RedOne who put a plug on it because Gaga doesn’t like her vocals in the track and won’t re-record it. According to Cher’s Twitter tirade, this isn’t the final version of the song either. Curious if the finished song will eventually make it’s way online as well. Take a listen and tell me how you feel about “The Greatest“…

Will.i.am Ft. Britney/Zedd/Lady Gaga/Tears For Fears – Stache And Shout (Robin Skouteris & Pat Scott Remix)

by: Taj | January 27th, 2013

Here’s a little slice of amazingness for your Sunday morning! Check out this MASSIVE Robin Skouteris & Pat Scott mashup-remix of Will.i.am & Britney’s club banger “Scream & Shout” that absolutely slays all other versions of this song. And just when I thought I’ve heard one too many version of this overly-remixed track… But seriously, all you producers need to move on. This one has officially been concurred!

Sharon Osbourne SLAYS Lady Gaga After She Writes Open Letter To Kelly…

by: Taj | January 11th, 2013

Are you ready from some shade piled on top of some more shade?! So here’s the rundown in a nut shell… Kelly Osbourne has been on the receiving end of attacks from Lady Gaga’s obnoxious fanbase (Accurately dubbed “littler monsters”) because of criticisms that Kelly has made on her show Fashion Police on about some of Gaga’s fashion choices. And c’mon… Gaga’s kind of asking for the attention (positive & negitive) when she wears some of the outlandish and ridiculous get-ups that we’ve seen her in over the years. As a matter of fact, a huge chunk of her career & success is based on and can be attributed to the shock value of some of her “looks” and media-hype surrounding her constantly revolving (and sometimes fashionably questionable) costumes.

Exhibit A:

So Kelly was recently interviewed for Fabulous magazine in which she spoke about being on the little monsters’ “shit-list” and made the following remarks concerning the matter;

“Lady Gaga’s fans are the worst. They’ve said I should kill myself, that they hope I get raped. I mean it’s crazy but I’ve had this all my life and I just try and ignore it.

I actually think she’s a good singer but she has the worst fans in the world and you have a responsibility to stop that. I think you do anyway.”

But rather than call off her legions of crazed hyenas spirited fans that follow her every whim or respond to Kelly privately concerning her interview, Gaga decided to write a hypocritical and somewhat condescending open letter to the Fashion Police host claiming she “cares so deeply about humanity” while knowing fully well that this would ignite even more poisonous venom from her “monsters” towards Kelly! Here is what Gaga wrote to Kelly

Dear Kelly,

While I wish you had reached out to me personally, as the head of the Born This Way foundation with my mother Cynthia we would like to respond. Everyday, through my music and public voice I choose to be positive and work towards a kinder and braver world with our community of followers. I encourage them to ignore criticism, stand up to bullies, know their own value and see that we are all the same and no one person is worth more than another. I know I’m perceived as a wild child, but in reality I am woman that deeply cares for humanity. I have empathy for you Kelly, but I feel it culturally important to note that you have chosen a less compassionate path. Your work on E! with the Fashion Police is rooted in criticism, judgment, and rating people’s beauty against one another. “Appearance” is the most used reason for bullying in the world. Your show breeds negativity, and over the years has even become comedic in nature. It glorifies you and Joan Rivers pointing in the camera, laughing, and making jokes about artists and celebrities as if we are zoo animals.

What about your body revolution? It used to make me truly sad when I would hear people talk about your weight when you were younger, as I was bullied too. To see you blossoming into a beautiful slender woman who makes fun of others for a living is astounding. Why not help others? Why not defend others who are bullied for their image and share your story?

I am pointing this out not to take a crack at your character, as we’ve met before and you’re lovely. However, I urge you to take responsibility and accountability for the example that you are setting for young people. They look up to you because you are famous, and if you treat others that way on TV, many adolescents at home on twitter assume your actions are acceptable: well if she does it, why can’t I? I cannot control my fans, and I discourage them from any negativity and violence, because that is wrong and hurtful — and I do feel baldy that your feelings were hurt. However, we can all do our part in the media to set a standard of respect, compassion, and love. I wish for you to be treated with the kindness and respect that everyone deserves.

While some of my fans have learning to do, most of them share the same values as I, and it’s what bonds us together. And that bond is strong.

Sincerely

Gaga and Cynthia

www.bornthiswayfoundation.org

PS. And to any media or celebrities that happen to find this letter in their path, I hope you, too, consider the power of your voices. Lets work together and make 2013 a year of unity.

While Gaga has a few somewhat valid points in this letter that I would have taken seriously if she didn’t derive an entire career based off of high fashion and visual aesthetics, this letter sounded more like an attempt to make excuses for her fans than a genuine and heartfelt response from a “caring humanitarian” to Kelly. But the story doesn’t end here… There’s actually a happy ending! What happened next I’m sure even Gaga didn’t see coming!  Kelly’s secret weapon, her mom/manager Sharon Osbourne, wrote an own open letter of her own slaying… No, ANNIHILATING the singer who’s currently struggling to sell tickets to her tour!! Take a look at Sharon’s game-ending reponse;

Ms. Gaga,

I am responding to your open letter to my daughter Kelly, and I am perplexed as to why you would go public with an open letter. Regarding this current situation; Kelly didn’t contact you, I was the one that contacted your manager today and the email is attached below for your reference. I reached out to him as Kelly’s manager and mother to ask him if you could address your “little monster” fans and stop them from writing libelous, slanderous and vile comments about my family, including death threats to Kelly.

Your open letter is hypocritical and full of contradictions. And as your mother Cynthia supports you, I support my daughter Kelly. I must say your opinions on what is politically correct and acceptable totally differ from mine, but that is what makes the world so interesting…we are all different. How sweet that you have empathy for my daughter, as you feel that she has taken a less passionate path in life. You say her work on E! with the Fashion Police is “rooted in criticism, judgment, and rating people’s beauty against one another.” Welcome to the real world. Example, when I saw you wear a dress made out of raw meat, I was sickened. When I see you wearing fur, and using it as a fashion statement, the fact that defenseless animals have been killed so you can get your picture in the press is abhorrent to me. Shouldn’t you be teaching your “little monster” fans to respect animals and life?

I don’t feel I have to justify Kelly’s choices in life to you. By your actions to Kelly right now, you have shown me that you are nothing more than a publicly seeking hypocrite and an attention seeker. You know it would have been much more dignified of you to do this privately. I am calling you a bully because you have 32 million followers hanging on your every word and you are criticizing Kelly in your open letter. Are you so desperate that you needed to make this public?

You state “Everyday, through my music and public voice I choose to be positive and work towards a kinder and braver world with our community of followers.” Well this obviously is not translating well to your fans, as a large portion of them have not only been vile to Kelly, but also other celebrities such as Madonna, Adele and Rihanna. “You say a kinder, braver world” I don’t know what world you live in, but supporting disgraceful fan comments doesn’t fall under the words “kinder and braver.” It comes under the heading of bullshit.

In closing, stop wearing fur, stop looking for publicity, and stop using your fans to belittle not just Kelly but an endless stream of celebrities. A word from you would stop all the hideous, negative and vile threats from your “little monsters.” Let me know if you want to continue this debate. I’m an open playing field for you my darling.

Sincerely,

Sharon Osbourne

I believe what Sharon was really trying to convoy can be summed up by an old English saying that goes a little something like this…

Sneak Peek: Lady Gaga – Cake (Music Video)

by: Taj | November 15th, 2012

So I’m breaking my no Gaga posting once again to post this sneak peek of the music video that she’s apparently going to release for her try at hip hop called “Cake“. If you thought the song was horrible… Just wait until you watch this teaser for the Terry Richardson produced music video she’s releasing for the cut! Some monsters are claiming the song was recorded as a joke but if is was… She’s really drilling this ‘joke’ into the ground by putting an equally as artistically questionable visual to it! Oh Gaga… What are you thinking?!

And PS… She’s not joking. She posted the pic shown above on her twitter today with the following caption:

“The real CAKE isn’t HAVING what you want, It’s DOING what you want. -lady gaga photo by terry richardson”

New Music: Lady Gaga – Cake Like Lady Gaga (DJ Shadow Produced)

by: Taj | September 19th, 2012

I know I said I would never post another Lady Gaga tune again but I’m gonna HAVE TO break my rule this one time to post this little gem…

Check this newly released track called “Cake Like Lady Gaga” which finds the “Born This Way” singer doing her best Hip Hop gangsta ho impersonation. This is what your mother monster has been up to… BAHAHAHAHAHA!! Ok… That was good for a laugh… Going back to not posting her music again.

Madonna Dedicates Song To Gaga & Claims They Will Collaborate Soon…

by: Taj | September 17th, 2012

In a recent stop in Atlantic City on her MDNA tour, Madonna stunned fans when she dedicated her ballad “Masterpiece”  to Lady Gaga and then went on to claim that she will be be sharing the stage with the “Edge of Glory” singer very soon. Of course most people are skeptical whether or not Madonna was being genuine with her remarks or if she was simply being a sarcastic pot-stirring diva. I can’t believe I’m saying this but being a long time Madonna fan, I really don’t think she was being sarcastic when she made reference to a Gaga collaboration.

Just humor me for a second and think about it… She said they will be “sharing a stage very soon” and she’s currently on the US leg of her tour. The last time Madonna was on tour in the US, she had a couple of  on-stage cameos with appearances by Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and Pharrell all in different cities. She’s also currently performing Gaga’sBorn This Way” as a mashup with her own hit “Express Yourself” on her record breaking tour, so I wouldn’t be too surprised if she reached out to Gaga and asked her to perform “B.T.W.” with her on stage to barry the hatchet once and for all about all this! I don’t know… I may be connecting some dots that don’t really connect here but I might not be too basis off either! What do you guys think? Are Madge’s remarks future revelations or pop-fiction?

Madonna Jokes She’s Glad She Could Help Gaga Write ‘Born This Way’…

by: Taj | July 25th, 2012

Sorry I have been M.I.A. for a few days. It’s been a very busy weekend/last few days for me here in San Deigo and have had no time to blob but I’m back! So this clip might be old news for some of you but thought it was worth posting anyway.

Last week Madonna appeared on a Brazilian television show for an interview to promote her tour and caused quite a stir when she responded to a question about her performing a mashup of her song “Express Yourself” and Lady Gaga’sBorn This Way“. The Queen of Pop took the opportunity to make it even more clear that she hears the overly obvious similarities between the two songs with a mischievous smirk on her face she joked;

“I’m really a big fan of that song ["Born This Way"] and I’m glad I could help her write it.”

Of course this comment pissed off little monsters and Madonna haters across globe! Probably the same people that blame her gun-prop heavy tour performances for the Dark Night Rises shooting! I personally love seeing her get a good laugh at it all! Check it out…

Madonna Serves Up Controversy On MDNA Tour With Lady Gaga Slam…

by: Taj | May 29th, 2012

Madonna is serving up the controversy with a no holds barred mentality on her MDNA tour and if this video footage from her dress rehearsal is any indication, no one is safe from her wrath of shock tactics… Especially if your name starts with an “L” and rhymes with “Lady Gaga“. Good ol’ Madge is not done letting us know how she really feels about Gaga’sExpress Yourself” swagger jaggin’ in her hit single “Born This Way” and has decided to take her true thoughts to the stage where she does a mashup of the two songs. The two songs without question work perfectly with one another and if you weren’t paying close attention while listening to Madonna’s mashup, you would hardly notice she’s singing anything other than her own song. (My partner who is a huge Madonna fan didn’t even notice while we were listening until I pointed it out.)

But that’s not where the real controversy lies in this performance!! After singing the chorus to “Born This Way” she returns to singing her own song and then cuts into elements of her Hard Candy track “She’s Not Me“. For years, fans have speculate that the song “She’s Not Me” was written about Lady Gaga even though lyrically it spoke about “the other woman” in a relationship, but in this new interpretation of the song Madonna leaves no room for speculation and comes out swinging with her lyrical usage!

So far, reactions about the controversial performance have been pretty divided. Some people think it’s a low blow on Madonna’s part while others feel it’s a well deserved slam on Gaga who has repeatedly denied that the two songs sound alike. In fact when the controversy over similarities first arose, Gaga has gone on record to say that “Born This Way” was inspired by NOT Madge but Whitney Houston. Personally, I think that Madonna is completely justified to speak (or in this case “sing”) her mind! Let’s be honest here, Gaga’s artistic “borrowing” from M started way before “Born This Way” which can be flattering when credit is given, but it’s understandable why Madonna would be so offended by Gaga’s lack of acknowledgement in the case of “B.T.W.” which blatantly sounds like her own song and ended up being a massive hit!

So I say, take it to the stage girls!! Nothing wrong with a little healthy dose of pop diva rivalry shit talk!! I’m sure we’ll hear a rebuttal in the near future from Lady Gaga who has remained silent about Madonna’sreductive” remark when describing “Born This Way” a few months back. It’s only a matter of time till the “monster” claws come out and we have a full-blown diva feud on our hands.

Martin Solveig Stirring Up Controversy With His Madonna Comments…

by: Taj | February 27th, 2012

The man behind Madonna’s hit single “Gimme All Your Luvin’Martin Solveig is causing quite a stir with his recent comments to a French radio station this week when talking about his thoughts on the Queen of Pop. While he’s obviously a huge fan of Madge and had nothing negative to say about her, he did make a few controversial remarks about other artists that the media has pitted her against over the years.

First, up was the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. When Martin was questioned about Madonna’s legacy in pop music, Solveig told the radio host that he basically feels that Madonna has succeeded in staying relevant throughout the years where Michael Jackson had failed before his untimely death. Here is Martin’s wig-snatchin’ comment in full…

“She has left her landmark in music and fashion in every era. In the 80s, in the 90s. And she has succeeded – what I think Michael Jackson has failed to do – to still be relevant in the 2000s working with Mirwais and Stuart Price. I’m more a fan of those albums than the ones she released when she started. And THAT is impressive to me.”

But the shenanigans don’t stop there! Next up on Solveig’s hit-list was none other than Madonna’s “redundant” personal impersonator. When the station grilled him on his thoughts about Lady Gaga’s much debated  Queen of Pop ”jagger swaggin,” the “Hello” producer downplayed the controversy while managing to infuriated little monsters around the globe with his remarks…

“No (GaGa did not take her crown). I think she’s a disciple. There’s a master and a disciple. It’s very simple. We all have a role model, don’t we?”

Honestly, I don’t find Solveig’s remarks too offensive myself. Not because I am a huge Madonna fan but I think they are both good assessments on the topics at hand. As much as well all love Michael Jackson and the musical legacy he left behind, his later projects really struggled to find any kind of mainstream success while Madonna has managed to still score some #1 albums and top 10 hits to this very day! As for Gaga achieving Queen of Pop status… While I’m not the biggest fan so she wouldn’t get my vote for the throne, I think it would take more than 2 and a half albums for anyone to try to snatch that crown.

What do you guys think of Martin Solveig’s remarks? Do you agree with his comments or do you think he’s just trying to stir up some good ol’ fashioned “any press is good press” type controversy?

New Producer, DJ Nikno, Takes On Lady Gaga & Katy Perry…

by: Taj | January 21st, 2012

So I’m going to break my “Gaga free blog” rule just this once but for a very good reason!! A good friend of mine and fellow DJ here in San Diego, DJ Nikno, has recently started to venture into producing (something that I am in the process of exploring myself) and has recently unveiled his first two productions to the world!! Usually when people I know attempt to dabble in producing, I tend to cringe because I have a very picky ear and am seldom impressed with their amateur work. I hate it when I have to think of a nice way to tell them I don’t like their work but in the case of Nikno,I don’t have to do that at all because his work is actually very impressive!! As a matter of fact, his second remix, Katy Perry’sThe One That Got Away,” has captured the essence of the song perfectly and is my favorite remix of the song I have heard to date! (Better than the officials if you ask me.) Check out Nikno’s remixes of Gaga’sMarry The Night” as well as his Katy Perry mix and feel free to head over to his SoundCloud page to download both if you like them. Can’t wait for him to put the finishing touches on his remix of Rihanna’sWhere Have You Been“… Again, Nikno’s bootleg mix is by far the best I’ve heard yet of the song. Once he gives me the green light, I will make sure to share that mix with you guys as well…

Lady Gaga SHUTS DOWN Her Vicious Little Monsters…

by: Taj | November 19th, 2011

In recent weeks Lady Gaga’s obnoxious fans known as “little monsters” have been living up to their nickname by going an all out anti-Adele online smear campaign simply because they feel threatened by all of Adele’s continued success with her record-breaking 21 album. Unable to accept the fact that Adele’s album/singles have sold more than their mother-monster’s recent effort, the “monsters” have been resorting to vicious high-school type verbal bullying of Adele and her weight on various online social networking sites as well as Youtube.

Some of Gaga’s delusional fanatics have been on a non-stop Twitter tirade, setting the site ablaze with crude jokes and jibes about the Adele’s weight. they’ve even gone as far as making a “Born This Way” parody video which features a fake Adele singing the lyrics: “I’m bootyful in my way because Arby’s makes nooo mistakesm, I’ve got the right order, baby, I was born this weight”. These verbal assaults have escalated even more after Adele was forced to cancel some recent concerts after having an operation on her vocal chords. Gaga’s fans of course used the opportunity to spread the rumor that the soul singer could not sell enough tickets for her show so had to cancel instead. (Which in actuality she consistently sells out huge venues)

In an attempt to control these unstable fans, Gaga has now released a statement denouncing their inappropriate behavior and proclaiming that she does not support anyone who has anything negative to say about Adele. This is what the “Born This Way” singer had to say to;

“I wouldn’t condone anything against Adele.

Anyone who would say anything negative about Adele, I wouldn’t support. I love her immensely. She’s very sweet. We’ve exchanged emails about our mutual love.

I wish her all the best for her recovery in her vocals, and I can’t wait to hear her new music. She’s an amazing success in the U.S. and in the U.K., and it’s wonderful to see such strong women thriving in pop music.”

Standing ovation Gaga!! I find it very admirable for her to stand up for Adele AGAINST these so called fans who are obviously too busy bedazzling their concert t-shirts & applying their guy-liner to actually take the time to listen to the lyrics to “Born This Way“.

Billboard Announces New Charting Rule That Lady Gaga Will Not Like…

by: Taj | November 18th, 2011

Today Billboard has announced a new way they are going to count album sales for their Hot 200 chart which might make it a little harder for some artists (such as Lady Gaga) to go to #1 on the chart from here on out. In a nutshell, here is what Billboard has announced about the new policy…

Free or almost-free albums don’t represent a marketplace.

Whether you work with or are a fan of Madonna or Kenny Chesney, Lady Gaga or Coldplay, it is your faith in our efforts to keep our charts credible that we work to honor every day.

Ultimately, what swayed us to make a rule change now was the fact that we wouldn’t want an album that sold for one penny to count on our charts. Our charts are meant to indicate consumer intent.

And once you accept that you don’t want to count penny albums, the only remaining question is simply where a threshold should be.

Unit sales for Albums priced below $3.49 during their first four weeks of release will not be eligible for inclusion on the Billboard album charts and will not count towards sales data presented by Nielsen SoundScan.

Of course the reason I brought Lady Gaga’s name into this is because earlier this year, she received a lot of criticism when she released her ‘Born This Way’ album and sold a whopping 1,108,000 copies its debut week partly because it was sold by Amazon for at a sale price of $.099. Billboard decided to count the sale price purchases which made up 440,000 units… Meaning she would have not surpassed the million mark to break records had they not counted these ridiculously discounted sales. I definitely think this is a fair decision on Billboard’s part and am glad that from now on, Gaga/Mariah/Rihanna/Madonna/ANY ARTIST can’t cheat their way to the top. How do you guys feel about this new rule? Fair or lame???
