Kylie Minogue kicked off her ground-breaking Aphrodite: Les Folies Tour in Denmark a couple of days ago which she proclaims will set the bar for newcomer Lady Gaga. This is what the “All The Lovers” singer told The Daily Mirror…

“I set the benchmark for Gaga. We’ve done it before, with all our creative shows, and now the new artists are following us.”

“She inspires me and I love what she does. But we’ve done it before. I had the Aphrodite theme and no one has done that before. Think outside the box is what I do, and that’s what keeps it fresh for me. I set the benchmark and now I can’t wait to see what the new talent will do next.”

As lofty a claim she’s making with this statement, I’m going to have to agree with her 100% after seeing the footage from the show. (posted below) Besides, it’s no secret that Gaga is merely an exaggerated hybrid of many female pop artists that have come before her… I have always said that Gaga took a lot (especially visually) from Kylie.

Check out the footage… Miss Minogue has really outdone herself this time around, transforming herself from a pop princess into a pop goddess with this Greek mythology themed stage spectacular. The 6 million pound stage comes equipped with ‘winged horses,’ a cast of 25 which includes troupes of acrobats and synchronized swimmers, as well as a fountain that spouts water 90 feet into the air! Pop Goddess Kylie Minogue is giving us a behind the scenes look at her new Les Folies Aphrodite World Tour by releasing this footage of her rehearsals in London for what is being called one of the most extravagant and expensive stage productions to date! The set for the new tour continues in Kylie’s Greek mythology Aphrodite-era visual concept and will features fountains that shoot water 90 feet into the air a-la Vegas’ Bellagio water-show. The massive production which also features a wardrobe designed by Dolce & Gabbana is said to have  cost around 25 million dollars!. SOUNDS AMAZING!!!!!!!!! She will be hitting the states with this exciting new tour so you definitely don’t want to miss this one!

DJ Yiannis Elia has gotten his hands on yet another Kylie Minogue track and has “reinvented” her latest bubble-gum single “Better Than Today” into a dark club mix. Best mix of the track so far, hands down!! Check it out…

Taio Cruz’ latest single called “Higher” has just been made a million times better with a sexy cameo by none other than Kylie Minogue! Kylie has lent her vocals to the remix single version of the song and even made a sexy appearance in the newly released music video! According to Taio, he originally wrote “Higher” for Kylie’s latest album but she pass on the song because she already had a song on the album with the same title. Not taking no for an answer, Taio decided to record the song himself and lassoed Kylie into doing this duet remix version. Smart man! Check it out…

Hey all… Sorry for the lack of posts the last few days. Have a lot on my plate but everything should starting winding down in the next few days so I’ll be able to update more. Not a perfect performance (she hit’s a bum high note and forgets the words towards the end) but still enjoyable enough to watch. I mean come on… It’s Kylie!!

Kylie Minogue fans get ready to lose your mind a little!!! Supposedly Kylie is in the early stages of  preparations for a re-release of her 2010 studio album Aphrodite!!! The news comes from song-writer/producer Luciana who offered “Cupid Boy” on the album’s original release. In a recent interview with Pop Trash Addicts, Luciana revealed that she has already submitted a new song called “If I Ruled The World” for the impending re-release of Kylie’s amazing dance album! The re-release will probably somewhat coincide with the launch of her Les Folies world tour. (Which by the way will be paying a visit to the US!!) Can’t wait to hear what Kylie will have in store for us with the reincarnation of the album!

A few weeks ago I posted a picture of Paris Hilton wearing a hot pink bikini on the set of her new music video that was being shot in Ibiza… Turns out that it wasn’t exactly HER music video, it was a video shot as a promo for a club called SuperMartxé. The song featured in the clip is also called “SuperMartxé” by Juanjo Martin & Albert Neve. Paris doesn’t sing on the track… As a matter of fact the only thing that Paris does in this video is the one thing that she’s really good at… Make an appearance.

Joking aside, I actually liked Paris‘ debut album and am looking forward to her next “Kylie inspired” effort that she’s been working on. Until then, we have faux Paris Hilton music video to hold us off…

Kylie Minogue has just announced the tour dates for the first leg of her Aphrodite Los Folies Tour! According to her official site, Kylie has been hard at work creating concepts for a “live spectacular that will surpass even her own previous groundbreaking shows”! Here is how Kylie herself describes the new stage production…
