Madonna at 54 has proven once again that she still holds the coveted title “Queen of Pop” this week after Billboard has released their 2012 year-end reader’s poll results. Billboard’s readers have weighed in on their favorite artists, songs and albums of 2012 and to no surprise, Madonna has emerged as the 2012 MVP and came out on top in 5 categories: ”Favorite Billboard 200 No. 1 album (MDNA),” “Best Tour (MDNA TOUR),” “Best TV Performance (Superbowl Halftime Show),” “Most Memorable Feud (Madonna vs Gaga)” & of course “2012 MVP”!
Congrats for the reigning queen and here’s to many more years under your pop music rule!! Here are just a few of my favorite 2012 Madonna moments…
So I created this “reconstruction” remix of Madonna’s “Gang Bang” using the original version, elements of the Tracy Young remix and based it off of the “The Gang Bang Theory” mashup by Robin Skouteris which incorporates Nancy Senatra’s “Bang Bang“. I loved that mashup but wanted a more clubby/dark version that I could play in my sets minus the Kill Bill dialog and Bon Jovi song. I think it turned out pretty well… Let me know what you think. Madonna’s fan favorite track off of MDNA “Gang Bang” has been officially remixed by longtime production collaborator Tracy Young and the results are pretty stellar!!! At first I thought that this might production end up on the Smirnoff MDNA remix album but the more I listen to it the more I realize that it may just be a bootleg based around of the album version. OK, now THIS is what I’ve been waiting for! Check out the latest preview off of Madonna’s highly anticipated forthcoming album MDNA. The track is called “Gang Bang” but don’t let the title fool you… No the Queen of Pop is not looking to get “banged” by multiple partners, she’s looking to “bang” her ex in the head with a gun! (Guy Richie maybe?) Madonna brings the drama and “edginess” on this new track that the rest of the clips that we’ve heard so far have been missing. She sings this dark little dance track in a dramatic character voice that we have never heard her adopt before. Definitely the most interesting and unique track I’ve heard yet from the album!! BRING ON MORE MDNA!!
