David Guetta & Akon are back at it once again… This time with a new collaboration called “Once Radio“. Probably one of my favorites from the pair to date!!! A little bit on the “I Gotta Feelin’” side but not an exact carbon copy which makes it forgivable! As far as I know, this track will appear on Akon’s Future of R&B mixtape but not sure if it will also appear on his next album. Great track, check it out…

As played out as David Guetta can be these days… He really can turn out a hot remix!! Check out his new take on Kat Deduna’s single “Push Push” featuring Akon. Much better than the RedOne produced original which failed miserably on the charts! This should have been released as the original.

Flo Rida’s collaboration with David Guetta, “Club Can’t Handle Me,” has gotten the remix treatment by Electrolightz and a “F*ck Me I’m Famous” rework by Guetta. Both are stellar electro-bangers that will work out your dancefloor. Love the new vocals in the Electrolightz mix Check em out…

Check out this perfect mashup of Kelly Rowland with Dead or Alive called “You Spin Me Around Like a Commander“! This ingenious creation was the product of two buddies of mine Bit Error & DigiMark. Thanks guys for this week’s “mandatory mashup”.
Flo Rida’s summer anthem “Club Can’t Handle Me” now has an official music video. Check out the fancy footwork in the clip for the David Guetta assisted track which is featured on the Step Up 3D soundtrack…
It’s hard to tell when these supposed leaked “David Guetta” tracks are actually really produced by him, since practically every dance track that hits the Internet automatically gets his name tagged to them these days weather he had anything to do with the production or not…. But this new one called “Nothing Else Matters” was supposedly a Kelly Rowland demo that he produced for “Commander” diva. I absolutely LOVE this track and I hope that Kelly didn’t turn her back on this one if it was really offered to her. Check it out…

Flo Rida’s new David Guetta produced single “Club Can’t Handle Me” is currently one of my favorite tracks that I’m listening to in my iPod. Yeah, it’s a bit on the cheesy side… A little reminiscent of “I Gotta Feelin‘”… But I’m sucker for a good uplifting hook with a dance beat. Anyhow, lastnight I came across this fun little Saint Project remix of the song that I threw into my set and went over pretty well! Check it out…

Leona Lewis is already hard at work on her third album after her last album Echo failed to impress following the massive success of her debut effort. So far it has been confirmed that song writers J.R. Rotem (“Better in Time“) and Ne-Yo are on board for the new project… Now DJ/Producer David Guetta revealed that he may be involved on Leona’s next album as well…
“She’s an amazing talent and incredibly beautiful. I’d love to work with her and see what we could do. There have been initial talks and it looks positive. It would be great to see what we could do together.”
I really don’t know if this is a good pairing if it does transpire but I guess I should reserve judgement until I hear something from the duo…
Rihanna’s label is boasting that her new album is full of hits from beging to end and is on par with Michael Jackson’s legendary Thriller album. Bu Thiam, Def Jam’s A&R guy, took to his blog to post the following lofty statement about Rihanna’s next effort;
“Rihanna is coming along incredibly. I’m trying to push her to where every song will be a hit from 1 to 12. I’m talking about NO album fillers. Our bar for this album is Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’. We got smashes from Stargate, Ester Dean, Mel & Mus and Rock City. We’re definitely going in with Ne-Yo, The-Dream and other writers and producers that have always been a part of her creative process since day one. She’s great to work with and very hands on with every song that’s being written and produced. She has visual concepts for just about every song. It’s already giving me the feel of a timeless album, and right now is her time.”
I don’t know if comparing your artists work to MJ’sThriller album is ever a good idea before it’s even been released but at least they are setting a high (some might say delusional) standard for themselves. Don’t get me wrong… I love Rihanna and want her to release the best album of her career next time around but let the fans decide weather it’s on par with Thriller rather than the A&R guy telling us that it is.
In other Rihanna new album news… David Guetta recently spoke to MTV about his (possible) work with Ri-Ri and promises to have the “Rude Boy” singer dancing to his signature club banger sound;
“Well, you know I’m a DJ, so I make beats that make you wanna dance. I think she was one of the first to do that in that urban world, so you know, I think it would be good for her to do it again.”
He also stated that while his track for Rihanna is ready to go in the studio, their schedules are the thing that can get in the way of the pair collaborating.
“We’re thinking of doing something together… Yeah [the track's ready], we just have to make sure it’s OK with her schedule and my schedule cause this is what happens. Unfortunately, it’s not only about the music anymore, it’s also about schedules which is really boring but, you know.”
Rihanna is one artist that I think would be a PERFECT fit for Guetta so I really hope this collaboration comes to light. I’m a little confused however why he says that he needs to get her into the studio… Back in May when he appeared on a French radio talk show he played a very short clip of a new song that he recorded with Rihanna. (LISTEN HERE) What ever happened to that track, I wonder…?
For those of you who are patiently waiting to hear the much anticipated Madonna/David Guetta collaboration… Don’t hold your breathe. According to Guetta, record label issues may prevent the release of his work with Madonna.
“It’s a tricky situation, because she’s now out of a record deal. We don’t even know what’s going to happen with it. It’s a huge record, so it’s really frustrating.”
“The track is part of the Warner deal, but it’s not on the album, so why would they invest any money in it? I was really unlucky with that one.”
Am I the only one that’s kinda happy this song might not get released? As much as I LOVE Guetta… He’s kinda all over the place right now and is starting to spread himself a little too thin. Don’t get me wrong, I would still like to at least hear the track (leak it TODAY please) but I think Madonna needs to get back to working with non-mainstream, up and coming producers. Some of her best work has come from producers that were virtually unknowns until she thrust them into the spotlight. But yeah… If that song is on Warner then I think it’s safe to assume we can kiss that song goodbye.
