Remix Treatment: Cher – Woman’s World (NVNZ Remix)

by: Taj | January 30th, 2013

Check out this new NVNZ remix of Cher’s latest single “Woman’s World“. (Not to be mistaken for Jason Nevins btw)

Anyhow, with no release date for official remixes on the horizon till March, Cher’s boring new(ish) single might never have a fighting chance to make any sort of lasting impact on fans. And while this mix definitely is a step in the right direction, Honey Boo-Boo is still not impressed with this song as a whole!

With that said, take a listen to this (supposed) Jason Nevins and tell me if you would like to hear it bumpin’ in the club!

New(ish) Music: Cher – Woman’s World

by: Taj | November 24th, 2012

So you may have noticed the lack of posts over this last week… I was in the Caribbean on a little vaca but I’m back and wanted to hear your thoughts on Cher’s new track “Woman’s World” that debuted earlier in the week. It was co-written and produced by Paul Oakenfold from what I understand. Are you into Cher’s return to dance??

Sneak Peek: Cher – Woman’s World (New Music Clip)

by: Taj | October 20th, 2012

So a clip of new Cher track called “Woman’s World” has leaked online today… It’s soooo short that you can barely tell if its good or not. I will say this – Cher + dance music does not feel genuine to me these days. Ever since her Believe album, she keeps swearing off the dance genre by saying that she’s hanging up the dancing shoes and going back to rock with her next album… Then we get another dance album,  Living Proof, so she makes this claim again and now we’re getting these dated dance synth riffs and a duet with Lady Gaga. I think if she’s going to keep putting that out there she needs to really stick to her guns because to a dance enthusiast such as myself, it comes off disingenuous and as if she’s only doing this genre because of pressure from her label. Besides, I prefer her doing rock-pop anyway!

P!nk On New Album, Being Approached For American Idol & Cher Collaboration…

by: Taj | August 8th, 2012

As the promotion rounds for her new album The Truth About Love begins, pop-rocker P!nk has opened up to The Herald and has revealed a lot of interesting tid bits about her new album (including a new collaboration with Eminem) as well as being offered judging gigs for American Idol, The X Factor UK & the Australian version of The Voice! Unfortunately for all you music reality competition fanatics, the “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” singer will not be accepting any of the offers for a very smart surprising & reason!

“I was offered The Voice in Australia plus American Idol and The X Factor… I said no because you can’t be honest. People will hate you if you’re honest. Simon Cowell is the only person who gets away with it because he’s got an accent. And he’s a man.”

“People would just hate me more than they already do. I don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings. Besides, you can sing karaoke anywhere…”

As for the new album, The Truth About Love, P!nk has revealed that we will see a new duet with Eminem titled “Here Comes the Weekend” which she describes as “an alternative club banger”. This of course is her second duet with the rapper and is basically a musical trade-off after she appeared on his last album.

“He said ‘Do you want to do a song with me?’ F— yeah! I said ‘Do you want to do a song with me?’ and he said ‘F— yeah!” Handshake. Nothing signed. Done… I think we have another song in our future that will be funny and sh– talking.”

Eminem isn’t the only cameo we’ll see on the new record… The Truth About Love will also feature vocals from Lily Allen on a song titled “True Love” and another duet with Nate Reuss (Lead-singer of the band Fun) called “Just Give Me a Reason“.

But to top off all the exciting new collaborations that P!nk has in store for us, the also revealed that she has written a song called “I Walk Alone” for Cher’s new album!!

“It’s such an honor… I finally feel like a songwriter. And I’m such a fan.”

Excited yet??? Sound off…

Twitter Spat!!! Cher VS Nicki Minaj Edition…

by: Taj | November 26th, 2011

Sometimes I think giving modern day celebrities an online voice via Twitter might be more media suicide than it is a promotional vehicle. Take for example in the case of Cher this week. Yes, Cher is on Twitter and uses it quite frequently as a matter of fact! Well this week the “Believe” singer wishes she can turn back time and rethink a few of her tweets that took some shots at the expense of Nicki Minaj. You know, instead of writing it all out for you… It’s all pretty self explanatory. Just read the tweets… All you need to know is that this started over the lyric “If you could turn back time – Cher – You used to be hot now you gone- nair‘” From Nicki’s song called “Did It On ‘Em‘”. The line is actually not at a shot at Cher but a metaphor to take a shot her her rap rivals. Here’s what went down when a Cher fan misinformed the diva about the lyric, telling her it was a jab at her…

OUCH!! I see am “I’m sorry I mistakenly called you out” collaboration coming our way! And alright Mrs. Jeffree Star for setting Chaz Bono’s mama straight!!!

Cher Scraps Plans For Country Album For Dance!!

by: Taj | March 21st, 2011

I’ve always said that the reason that Cher still has a career is because she knows who her loyal fans are. The 64 year old songstress was recently rumored to be working on a country album (which was totally true) but now plans on recording a full on dance record instead according to her rep. The sudden change in gears probably came after her Diane Warren-penned balled from Burlesque, “You Haven’t Seen the Last Of Me,” went to #1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Chart. Thanks to this recent #1 milestone, Cher has now topped the Billboard charts in six consecutive decades since the beginning of her career! WOW… Amazing! Looking forward to hearing to this new dance project and her future #1 dance hits….

Remix Treatment: Cher – You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me (Almighty, Dave Aude & Stonebridge Remixes)

by: Taj | November 22nd, 2010

Music icon Cher has just made her triumphant return to the dancefloor with a new batch of dance remixes produced by Almighty, Dave Aude & Stonebridge. The new single called “You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me” is a Diane Warren penned ballad in its original form and is lifted from the movie soundtrack for Cher’s new flick, Burlesque. Almighty has been remixing Cher’s singles since her “Believe” days so it’s nice the two collaborate yet again but I’m happy that she also tapped Dave Aude and Stonebridge to add their twist to the song!! Check em out…

Sneak Peak: Cher – Welcome To Burlesque (60 Second Clip)…

by: Taj | November 11th, 2010

Here is a preview of another Cher track from the motion picture soundtrack to her new movie “Burlesque” which co-stars Christina Aguilera. This one is called “Welcome To Burlesque” and sounds more less like an actual Cher song like the track I posted yesterday (“You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me“) and more like a song written for a musical. Take a listen…

New Music: Cher – You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me

by: Taj | November 10th, 2010

We’ve heard a few of the Christina Aguilera tracks from the Burlesque movie soundtrack but I’ve been really curious in hearing what Cher has to offer on the forthcoming album. Not the biggest Cher fan here but you gotta admit that it’s kinda intriguing since she has made any new music in 10 years. Today we finally get a taste of what to except with a new song off of the Burlesque soundtrack called “You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me“. It’s a pretty rock ballad and is typical Cher! (In a good way of course) Almost sounds like a track that would be included on her own forthcoming studio album… As a matter of fact, I’m not sure if this song will actually be performed in the film since it doesn’t sound like any of the throwback/jazz Christina Aguilera numbers that we’ve heard from the soundtrack so far. I’m kinda hoping she does though. Take a listen…

New Christina Aguilera & Cher “Burlesque” Movie Poster/Christina Belting Out John Lennon’s Imagine…

by: Taj | September 15th, 2010

Check out this new promo poster for Christina Aguilera & Cher’s new movie Burleque. You know, I’m praying that Christina’s album bombing won’t have any effect on this movie but I have to be honest… I think it will. Especially since the negative press continues to surround her even though she’s completely stopped promoting the record.

In brighter Xtina news, check out this clip of the “You Lost Me” crooner doing what she does best… Belting out a beautiful ballad. Christina opted to skip this years VMA’s this past Sunday to perform this rendition of John Lennon’sImagine” at the launch for the Montblanc John Lennon Edition writing instrument at Lincoln Center in New York. Love her or hate her… Girl can SANG!!!

Lady Gaga Sweeps MTV VMA’s!

by: Taj | September 13th, 2010

So not to anyone’s surprise, current “it” girl Lady Gaga swept the MTV VMA’s tonight winning a total of 8 awards including video of the year for “Bad Romance“. Pop music legend Cher presented her with the prestigious award looking like she stepped straight out of her “Turn Back Time” music video. Very cool!!!

By the way, it was also announced today that the title of Gaga’s next album will be Born This Way. Interesting…

Christina Aguilera & Cher’s Official ‘Burlesque’ Movie Poster…

by: Taj | August 30th, 2010

Here is the newly released official movie poster for Christina Aguilera & Cher’s upcoming movie “Burlesque“. The movie is right around the corner… Hopefully all the backlash from Christina’s failed Bionic album will be long behind her and this movie can be a fresh start for her to revitalize her career!

Cher Talks New Album…

by: Taj | August 17th, 2010

For all you Cher fans… The 64 year old diva recently opened up to Entertainment Weekly and dished the deets on her new album! The good news… She is currently working on one! The bad news… It’s only in the beginning stages. The even more bad news for some of you… No dance music! Here’s what the seemingly immortal star had to say…

“It really won’t be ‘Believe-ish’. It will be more… I don’t know how to say it. I can’t put a genre to it. It’s a little bit more real instruments, like guitars and stuff like that.”

“I just got some of the songs and I’m just learning [them] so I’m kind of at that beginning stage where you’re taking baby steps.”

Actually… I think I’m over Cher trying to stay current and ‘hip’ with a house beat and kids half her age dancing around her in a music video. Bring back some rock-n-roll “If I Could Turn Back TimeCher! Or maybe even a little emo Cher a-la Evanescence! What do you think…?

Christina Aguilera & Cher’s “Burlesque” Movie Trailer…

by: Taj | August 5th, 2010

YouTube Direkt

Check out the movie trailer for Christina Aguilera & Cher’s upcoming film, Burlesque. Christina actually looks like a good actress… This movie may redeem her in the eyes of the fans turned their backs on her during her Bionic era. (Which from what I understand, is officially over since “You Lost Me” has failed on the charts.) Looks like a fun movie!
