Britney Spears has just dropped a new Dr. Luke produced track titled “Ooh La La” for the Smurfs 2 soundtrack. Being that the song was intended for a children’s movie, I really didn’t set my expectations too high and after hearing it… I’m glad I didn’t! It’s a little too over-the-top cheesy for my liking and the chorus sounds awfully similar to Madonna’s “Superstar“. (Which I wasn’t a huge fan of either.) Still, I’m sure the Britney stans will be smacking their lips on this piece of bubble-gum pop! Check it out and tell me if you’re feeling it in the comments section….
I wasn’t going to post this because I’m not a fan of this remix at all but decided I would go ahead and share it anyway for all you Britney fans that can’t get enough of the pop princess. She definitely gets a little more face time in the new video and I actually like her ghetto-fabulous make over better than the big-haired sorcerous look she dawned in the original video.
As you can probably tell from the image I posted above and the title of this post, I am more excited about Luciana joining the Will.i.am/Britney Spears party than anything else about this way too over played song! New production duo Cave Dunk have breathed new life into this song that’s quickly becoming the most played-out cut of 2013, and have turned it into a new electro Luciana club-anthem! I think this song is going to have 9 lives thanks to all the stellar remixes that are popping up!
While Britney Spears’ latest musical offering “Scream & Shout“ is getting played out into oblivion on the radio, I have been revisiting a few of her album tracks from her last album, Femme Fatale. While that album spawned multiple hit singles, one of my personal favorite tracks off of that album has always been “Gasoline” which never got an official release. A few good bootleg remixes did make the rounds a while back but nothing spectacular… That is until now. This week, up-and-coming producer Cajjmere Wray treated his fans to a previously unreleased remix that he did for “Gasoline“! He’s also offering his remix package (radio/club/dub) as a free download on his official webpage; http://www.cajjmerewray.com/! Take a listen to C.W.’s 2013 revival of this Britney gem if you like what you hear, head on over to his official site to download it for yourself…
Britney Spears – Gasoline (Cajjmere Wray Remix):
I’ve really been into the last two Chris Cox productions that have come my way! His remix of Will.i.am & Britney Spears‘ “Scream & Shout” as well as his Crystal Waters & Dj Frankie assisted new single “Oh Mama Hey” are both heavy hitters in my sets right now. Part of the reason why I have really taken to both of these productions so much is that they find Chris reviving the sound that put him on the map in the first place – The iconic Thunderpuss sound that he perfected with his old production partner Barry Harris.
Chris & Barry RULED the dance/remix genre with their with their high-energy TP remixes through most of the early 2000′s but eventually broke up leaving many of their fans (such as myself) with an empty void .
While some people might argue that the Thunderpuss sound is “dated” and doesn’t fit the current trend in EDM… I would beg to differ considering how well both of these productions have been doing on the dancefloor for me! I think the people that actually remember & danced to Chris & Barry’s older production back in the day are really enjoying the throwback nostalgia, while newer dance music enthusiasts are discovering and getting exited about the TP vibe for the very first time through these remixes.
If you haven’t heard Chris‘ “return to form” in his latest two productions… I highly recommend that you check them out!
Will.i.am ft. Britney Spears – Scream & Shout:
Chris Cox & DJ Frankie Ft. Crystal Waters – Oh Mama Hey (Original):
Here’s a little slice of amazingness for your Sunday morning! Check out this MASSIVE Robin Skouteris & Pat Scott mashup-remix of Will.i.am & Britney’s club banger “Scream & Shout” that absolutely slays all other versions of this song. And just when I thought I’ve heard one too many version of this overly-remixed track… But seriously, all you producers need to move on. This one has officially been concurred!
DJ DigiMark has just released another EPIC mashup that is hands-down one of my more favorite mashes that he’s put together! This one brings Rihanna’s “Diamonds” and Britney Spears’ Femme Fatal album track “Drop Dead Beautiful” together into a perfect union! Mark uses the Peter Rauhofer remix of “Diamonds” as a backdrop for the mash and got very creative with the play on words in his production. You would almost swear that Brit and Ri-Ri where actually in the studio together singing back and forth from one another at the 1:45 mark of the song! Take a listen…
My good friend DJ Nikno has reworked Will.i.am & Britney’s current club banger “Scream & Shout” into a dark and funky anthem! Considering that this song is already the single most bootlegged track of 2013, I have to commend Nikno for actually reimagining the track with a completely new feel and fresh sound which sets this one apart from the sea of bootlegs that sounds so similar! It’s a must listen!!

Also, check out Nikno’s Soundcloud page to hear some of his other amazing tracks/remixes that he has produced over the last few years!
Also, take a listen to this mashup I did using the Reidiculous remix of the song VS The Talking Heads “Burning Down The House“! I’ve had a great reaction on the dancefloor with this mashup… Thinking about reworking it with even more Talking Heads. Let me know what you guys think…
Will.i.am Ft. Britney Spears vs Talking Heads – Screaming Down The House (DJ Taj vs Reidiculous Mashup):
Are you guys ready for some new Britney?!!! Ok, I know this has been out for a week or so and I’m late on posting it, but in case you haven’t read my last few posts… I was on vacation (out of the country) and am playing blog catch-up today! So let us take a deep breath, hold hands, take a listen to Will.i.am’s Britney Spears assisted new single “Scream & Shout” and bask in all its glory! (Before the radio plays it out and ruins it for us) WELOME BACK BRITNEY… Oh yeah… And will.i.am too I guess.
Happy Halloween everyone! In honor of the spooky holiday, here is a hot JNX mashup of Britney Spears’ “Scary” with a R3HAB instrumental! This will be bumpin’ in my set tonight… Feel free to download to make it a part of your Halloween festivities as well!
I kind of swore off reality music competitions last year but with this year’s big name celeb recruits I was starting to gain an interest again… Now after I’ve seen this promo for X Factor USA featuring a catty Britney Spears cringing at a big ol’ queen butchering her own song and then telling a disgruntled reject that called her and Demi Levato “auto-tuned amateurs” that she doesn’t even feel comfortable with him being on stage staring at her… Not to mention Britney’s cray-cray facial expressions that Paula Abdul couldn’t hold a candle to, not even in the midst of her one of her hardest-core Xanax/boxed wine bingers! I’m DEFINITELY watching this shit-show go down when it airs on TV!
Check out these images of Britney Spears, Demi Levato and company arriving in Austin, Texas for their first day as judges/mentors on US X Factor! Britney is looking mighty fine signing fan autographs in her tight red dress! Can’t wait to see Britney and Simon go at it this season!! Something tells me that Britney might just show America that there’s a sassy little minx hiding under that sweet, girl-next-door persona!
Check out diva-supreme Mariah Carey’s flippant response when asked what about her feelings on today’s big news that Britney Spears will in fact join the judging panel on X Factor next season. She’s like a honey badger… She don’t care! As many of you already know, Mariah was Simon Cowell’s first choice for the gig but it just didn’t pan through in the end. A few months back, her hubby Nick Cannon proclaimed that Mariah passed on the opportunity because she was way too busy working on her own projects and that she wasn’t a fan of judging others on their talent. Well if this response says anything, I don’t think Mariah is a fan of the show at all! She’s probably just sick of hearing her songs being butchered by some of the amateur talent.
