Ok, so this whole attempt to take a break from the blog while Sound Off 2.0 is being designed is not working out so well… This is the second post that I have come out of hibernation for to share with you guys. So apperently Miley Cyrus just did an interview with LOVE magazine in which the twerk-challeneged pop tart compares herself to Beyonce and claims that she’s got more game than B right now. No joke! According to reports, this is what Miley has to say about herself…
“Beyonce has been a big inspiration to me but she’s been out for such a long time. She’s so talented and I think she’s at the top of the game now but people are always looking for new blood and that’s what I bring to the game now, new blood.”
“I got the total package you know, the curves, the rhythm, and the voice. I’m just the best.”
“As Beyoncé grows in motherhood and all the crap it does to your body, it will create a vacuum for fresh young faces to rise up and no one else can properly fill that void right now. I’m the only white female singer that could fill that slot right now and do it right, you know?”
“I just feel like I was born for this time right now. I’m just the total package, you know? All things must start and end and I hope to have the same success as other icons in the game when my run is over. But for now, my run is just starting.”
I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t have a lot of love for Beyonce right now but even I can be objective enough to say that Miley has been hitting the bong a little too much lately if she’s serious with this shit talk! And what’s all this mess about people wanting “new blood”? Girl has been selling her Hana Montana hiney since she was 10 years old. Yes, she has a few hits right now (that I am a fan of) but I honestly don’t see this Miley train chugging along for much longer. She’s done a great job obtaining some attention for herself with a couple of well crafted songs along with her painfully transparent shock tactics but she just doesn’t have that certain x-factor that stars such as Rihanna, Beyonce and Madonna have… The kind she has been trying to so desperately to emulate as an obvious attempt to try to distance herself from her Hana Montana past. It’s won’t be too long before the masses start to get bored of her forced shenanigans and she’ll go back to singing duets with her dad, Billy Ray.
What do you guys think? Is Miley the next big thing next to Beyonce?
Here’s a few more Beyonce mixes before I go to bed. Gonna keep my commentary short and sweet! I really like these! Thank God for Ralphi Rosario & Nervo! I’ve heard better from Tiesto but hey… Not much you can do with this song!
Beyonce – Grown Woman (Ralphi Rosario Remix):
Beyonce – Grown Woman (Nervo Remix):
Beyonce – Standing On The Sun (Tiesto Remix):
Poor, poor, poor Beyonce… We’ve heard three new songs off of her still-unreleased new album. One of them is so awful it’s not worth mentioning ever again while the other two are just “ok” which leaves us waiting for the remixes to rescue them from complete pop-oblivion. Well we’ve got a decent remix of “Grown Woman” thanks to Monsieur Ali, and today I was excited to discover that WaWa have remixed her other decent but not amazing single “Standing On The Sun“. Unfortunately, as much as I love WaWa productions… This one falls flat considering the song in its original form just doesn’t lend itself well to be remixed into a dance number!
Is it just me or does is seem like this entire new Beyonce era has flopped before it even started?!
Are you ready to see the most disappointing 4 minutes of Beyonce’s career? Check out this teaser for the music video treatment to her supposed “buzz” single “Bow Down” which was released months ago so (putting the fact that the song is God awful aside) I don’t think even the stans would even be excited for a music video treatment at this point. And 4 seconds?!! That’s not a tease… That’s just mocking her fans. When’s Rihanna coming back?!
Yesterday, some of the world’s biggest a-lister performers/feminists banded together in London to take part in the Chime For Change concert which benefits and promotes education, health and justice for women! Here are some of the highlights from the show, including full performances from Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Florence & The Machine, Ellie Goulding and Madonna’s inspirational speech

We can finally listen to Beyonce’s hotly anticipated new single “Grown Woman” in full and studio quality today! The song has made its way onto the internet setting the Bey-Hive abuzz! After listening to the song in full, I am convinced more than every that I actually like the song. I’m not jumping out of my seat & dancing on the ceiling over it… It’s just not that exciting or engaging but I don’t absolutely hate it like “Bow Down” either.
I’m curious as to how this single will fair on the charts since I feel like we’ve been teased for months now thanks to the Pepsi commercial it was featured in, multiple online snippets we’ve been hearing and footage of a live performance from her current European tour that’s been passed around online. I almost feel like we’ve already been hearing the song (or parts of it at least) for so long now that it might have lost the wow-factor that most songs rely on to excite fans into purchasing the song on initial release. Take a listen and tell me what you think of “Grown Woman“…
So the song we’ve all been waiting to hear in full from Beyonce’s Pepsi commercial, “Grown Woman“, can finally be heard in all of it’s glory thanks to this fan-footage that someone recorded at Bey’sMrs. Carter Tour. Though it isn’t the best audio recording, it’s good enough to get a gist of what we should expect. I actually like what I’m hearing so far… Is it amazing? No. Is it debut single worthy? Not really. Is it better than that mess of a “song” “Bow Down” that she worried teased us with? HELL TO THE MUTHA FUCKIN’ YES!! So if Beyonce’s strategy by leaking “Bow Down” first was to disappoint us so badly that when she released anything mediocre level and up afterwards, we would instantly love it out of relief that it wasn’t garbage… Mission accomplished! Take a listen and and POST COMMENTS HERE to tell me what you think of “Grown Woman“…
While Beyonce continues to procrastinate release her new single “Grown Woman” which is already featured in a Pepsi commercial… The powers that be have released another short preview of the song. I hope it’s going to be worth the wait because so far these short clips are doing nothing for me. Take a listen…
UPDATE: Here’s a longer clip. The new track is produced by Timberland and if I’m hearing correctly I think we’re getting a little Justin Timberlake on background vocals. OK, now that I’m hearing a little more of the song… I think I’m starting to feeling it!
Beyonce returns to music scene with a new Trap House track that she posted on her Soundcloud a few days ago called “Bow Down/I Been On“! I can describe this song in one words for you guys…
or if I were to chose another word…
Or how about we sum it up with three words…
“Mess. Miss. Flop”
I know I’m gonna piss off the Bey-hive but I’m praying for Beyonce that this isn’t actually her lead single. It has absolutely no hook or commercial appeal. Hopefully this will be a “buzz-track” to get people talking before she drops a monster!
Take a listen and let me know if you’re bowing down to B’s return…
So the other day I reported how Beyonce’s publicist contacted a famous blogger and asked him to remove “unflattering” action-shot photos of the “Single Ladies” singer taken from her massively watched Super Bowl halftime performance this past weekend. The blogger of course did not respond to the ridiculous request and instead wrote an article about how desperate her people are to manipulate the media to make sure she has a “picture perfect” image in every aspect of the meaning.
In a hilarious turn of events, since the blogger posted his article about the phone call/email her received it seems that some of the pictures have gone viral all over the Internet as fans and critics alike are taking to photoshop to spoof the buffed out diva! Karma’s a bitch! Here are just a few of the parody photos…
Feel free to post links to any you come across in the comments section…
So I found this little “behind-the-scenes” tidbit to be very interesting… After a popular blogger at Buzzfeed.com wrote a pretty fun & positive article about Beyonce’s Super Bowl halftime performance, B’s publicist contacted the blogger and asked him to remove some of the photos in the article that she found to be “unflattering” of the “Love On Top” singer. As if 108.4 million viewers didn’t witness these “unflattering” moments themselves when it happened live in action on Sunday.
So being the awesome blog that they are, the people over at Buzzfeed did not bend over backwards for this ANNOYING attempt to control all aspects of the media on Beyonce’s team’s part and instead wrote a new article to publicly call them out and post the ridiculous email that B’s publicist sent to the bloggers… Oh and not to mention, took the opportunity to REPOST all of the “unflattering” photos. HAHA!
Sorry team B, this one goes to team Buzzfeed! Goes to show that you can’t have your cake and eat it too. You want to be in the spotlight? Then you’re going to be in the spotlight – THE GOOD AND THE BAD. You want to sing for the President? Then you need to SING for the President and expect repercussions if you decide that you just can’t make time for rehearsals and want to lip synch instead. Who run the world? The people/fans/blogs/ect who put you where you are so stop trying to shade them!
While everyone is still talking about Beyonce and her lip-synching scandal/Super Bowl halftime show appearance she’s about to make… I’m still stuck on Kelly Clarkson and her actual LIVE and flawless performance during the inauguration.I have grown to really appreciate her even more for showing up Beyonce in the live vocal performance department and have been revisiting a lot of her amazing old music all week long! So it goes without saying that I was on cloud 9 when JNX released this remix video for the Tommy Sunshine & Disco Fries Kelly Clarkson Mega-Mix today! Check it out and take a trip down memory lane with Mrs. Clarkson!
So as I’m sure you’ve all heard already… Beyonce is sitting in the hot seat today after a member of the U.S. Marine Band dropped a bombshell and claimed that Beyonce lip-synched her National Anthem performance at President Obama’s second inauguration yesterday. Supposedly, Beyonce requested the pre-reocrded backing-track last minute and cited insufficient rehearsal-time with the band as her reason for lipping. Since then, the member of the band that broke the story has been silenced and a representative for the Marines has released a statement trying to put out the fire by saying “no one in the Marine Band is in a position to assess whether it was live or pre-recorded“.
But the damage may have already been done! Seems like you just can’t escape this story right now… It’s all over Twitter, Facebook, music blogs, television and radio. Some people are calling fowl and seemed deeply offended that Beyonce would resort to such studio-trickery when performing for the President. Others are defending the Super Bowl half-time show’s star entertainer by claiming that the inauguration is much too important of a gig that is watched by millions to risk any sort of snag or missed note. We all know what happens if you screw up the National Anthem these days. While some others simply refuse to believe there is any truth behind these claims at all even though the women who played in the Marine band told multiple news outlets, including CNN and The New York Times, that this was the case…
So while the Internet is a-buzz crucifying/defending Beyonce, I want to hear what my readers think about the “controversy”… Are you on “team B” or are you burning your “Single Ladies” CD-single as we speak?! Ready, set, SOUND OFF…
