Check out this interview with Akon where the music star proclaims that signing Lady Gaga onto his label has pretty much ensured him an early retirement. He also talks a bit about the current trend of fusing dance music and hip hop. (Which I am a big fan of, personally.) Akon also reveals that hip hop veteran, Dr. Dre, is about to drop a dance record that he thinks is going to be huge! Exciting… Can’t wait to hear it!
Akon and Keri Hilson have come together to record a beautiful charity single called “Oh Africa” to benefit underprivileged African youth. Check out the video and you can purchase the song iTunes to support the cause.
Here’s a new track by Nicole Scherzinger featuring Akon called “By My Side” off of her (indefinitely shelved?) album, My Name Is Nicole. Cute song but I like her work with the Pussy’s much better!

Kat Deluna is back with a brand new dance-pop single called “Push Push.” From very first listen, it’s quite obvious that this a RedOne produced single. I actually really like this sound for Kat and can see this being a huge hit for the “Whine Up” singer. The actual single version is said to include a cameo from Akon which will definitely “push” the songs radio appeal.

Akon and David Guetta are at it once again… After the massive success of their collaboration “Sexy Bitch” the two hit-makers are back with a brand new single called “Nosy Neighbor.” This new “peeping-tom anthem” was produced by Guetta and is rumored to be the first single off of Akon’s forthcoming new album. Even though I think the subject matter is a little on the silly side, this song is pretty damn hot and will be a HUGE hit for Akon if it is in fact his first single! These two really have great studio chemistry together! I really hope Guetta produced Akon’s entire album…

The biggest hit maker of ‘09, David Guetta, has just confirmed that he is in fact working on a new project with Madonna! Guetta has already remixed Madge’s 2 singles off of her greatest hits package (“Revolver” & “Celebration“) so it seems like a natural progression for him to work on some new material with the pop-icon. The details about the project are still under-wraps but here’s what David revealed about the collaboration;
“I would love to work with Madonna. It will probably happen very soon actually. It’s all in the early stages and I’m not allowed to speak about it yet,”
I’m hoping he can create the same kind of magic with Madonna that he did with The Black Eyed Peas (“I Gotta Feelin“), Kelly Rowland (“When Love Takes Over“) & Akon (“Sexy Bitch“) I’ll keep you guys posted because you know I’ll be all over this one…

I knew it was only a matter of time before Madonna jumped on the David Guetta bandwagon… I mean, he did construct some pretty massive hits for the likes of The Black Eyed Peas,Akon and Kelly Rowland. While I’m liking his remix of “Revolver,” I can’t see this one having the same huge commercial radio success the way his productions for BEP and Akon blew up. Check it…

Madonna’s been keepin’ a little hidden treasure to release just at the right time… And I guess that time would be tonight! Check out this Akon remix of her current single “Celebration“. I actually LOVE the additional vocals that Akon added to the song… He breathed fresh, new life into this fun and uplifting song while staying true to the “feel” of the original version.

Paloma Faith made an appearance on BBC Radio 1 Live the other day and sang this AMAZING cover of David Guetta/Akon track “Sexy Bitch“. She changed the lyrics to “Sexy Minx” to class up the song and let me tell you… She did a stellar job turning this R&B dance song into a gorgeous ballad. Goes to show that if you truly have talent… You can really pull singing anything off.
