Here’s a little treat for all you Whitney Houston fans… It’s a hefty clip of an unreleased 7th Heaven remix of her single “I Look To You“. This remix is pretty great, actually!! I wonder why it wasn’t released along with the other productions when the remix package was sent out last year?? This is definitly one of the better remixes that I’ve heard of the song! On a side note… I’m also disappointed that “Song For You” from her last album never got the remix treatment! What a complete waste of a potential dance HIT for Whitney.

WOW… Just WOW!! Christina Aguilera brought the house down with a powerful and flawless rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” at game 6 of the NBA finals tonight. This is probably my second favorite live rendition of our national anthem right behind Whitney Houston’s infamous 1991 Super Bowl XXV performance.
As Whitney Houston continues her trek across Europe with her Nothing But Love Tour, the bad press continues to roll in. This time negative reviews are coming out of England where Whitney performed at the O2 Arena over the weekend. According to Georgina Littlejohn of The Daily Mail, Whitney’s voice completely failed her at the sold out concert which prompted hundreds of people to walk out of the show. Concert goers where treated to Whitney missing multiple lines in multiple songs, panting excessively while performing, and randomly pausing without any explanation.
Mrs. Houston apparently gave an awkward apology to audience members after she stummbled through her signature song “I Will Always Love You“;
“She don’t want to come, my soprano friend… Sometimes the old girl sings, but not tonight… I want to do it, but she doesn’t want to… She’s getting a little… temperamental, even.”
During another performance of her classic, “The Greatest Love of All,” Whitney reportedly only sang two verses and let her backups singers carry the rest of the song. Whitney blamed the air conditioning in the arena on her vocal woes. Some fans were so disappointed that they demanded a refund for their tickets. Poor Whitney… I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; I think it’s time to hang up the towel and retire from touring all together.
Whitney Houston stopped in Dublin, Ireland this week with her Nothing But Love Tour and wowed her fans when she pulled a very special guest onto stage to perform “The Greatest Love of All“. Check out the heart warming (and adorable) video above…
Whitney Houston’s camp has finally announced her next international single to be “Nothin’ But Love“… Something she has NOT be getting from critics while on tour. Anywho, this track is probably one of the more “current” sounding songs on the album and I’m PRAYING that the Freemasons get their hands on this single and turn it out they way turned out “Million Dollar Bill“!!! The US single is rumored to be “Worth It” but I haven’t been able to find confirmation about that one.

Whitney Houston finally kicked off the delayed UK leg of her tour after suffering from an illness but the diva received a cold reception from critics who were not impressed by her performance. Just like her Australian tour, some critics paned the show because Whitney was out of breathe and could barley get through some of her big numbers. She apparently blamed her poor preformance on the cold and air conditioning. The audience became annoyed because when Whitney became breathless, she would stall with long water breaks and audience chat sessions to give her time to recoup. The final straw came when Whitney disappeared for 15 minutes as they played the music video for “One Moment In Time” for the arena. Concert goers apparently grew weary at this point and started booing.
If Whitney was smart, I think she would learn her lesson from this disaster of a tour and NEVER hit the road on such a large scale again. In the future, she may just want to put on one, very high priced special engagement in NYC, make a DVD out of it and call it a day.
In case you haven’t seen the new viral video this week… Check out this kid that people are calling the Chinese Susan Boyle. Damn this boy has some pipes!!! He belted out a ridiculous version of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You“… Better than Whitney herself could even sing it anymore!
Whitney Houston really should change the name of her tour to the “Nothing But BAD LUCK Tour.” Only a day after she was forced to cancel the opening night of the European leg of the tour in Paris for having a respiratory infection, poor Whitney has now been admitted into a hospital for the illness and has canceled 2 more dates that were set to take place in Manchester, England April 8th & 9th. Her label has released the following statement concerning the cancelations;
“Doctors visited Whitney late last night in Paris and confirmed that she was suffering from an upper respiratory infection. Upon medical advice, Whitney has been advised that she cannot perform to allow her time to recover.”
The Manchester dates gave been rescheduled for April 16th & 17th. Let’s hope Whitney has a speedy recovery.
I don’t know if Whitney Houston will ever live down the drug rumors, but the latest bit of gossip to hit the blogosphere is that her family are secretly planning (not so secret if it’s all over the Internet) an intervention and want the diva to go back to rehab. Her family’s concern supposedly comes from her erratic behavior on tour and the string of performances in Australia where Whitney was disoriented and out of breathe through the whole show. I guess they aren’t buying the cigarette smoking explanation that her promoter gave the media after all the bad press. The fam at the very least wants Whit-Whit into a facility for testing and treatment if needed. Don’t know how much truth this story is based on but I don’t think it’s a horrible idea for Whitney to be tested from time to time. Just as an extra percussion so that she doesn’t head down that dark road that almost ended her career.
Whitney Houston was interviewed recently on her “Nothin’ But Love Tour”… Pretty basic interview where Whitney talks about her tour, her comeback and how she stays healthy. I wish they would have asked her why she insists on destroying her instrument by smoking cigarettes. I mean, listen to the woman’s voice… She sounds like she has laryngitis.
