My Madonna “Living For Love” (MEGAPOST)

by: Taj | February 20th, 2015

So I’m really trying not to post too much about Madonna’s latest single “Living For Love” (too late right?) even though everytime I take a breath another amazing official, bootlegs, remix video or mashup of my own pops up! So instead of posting 20 news L4L related posts, this will be my “Living For Love” MEGAPOST which I will update as more blog-worthy version cross my path! Let’s get started…

Today M released her part 2 batch of official remixes which include 2 HOT new productions by Dirty Pop & StoneBridge! I absolutely LOVE both! StoneBridge delivered the house sound I really wanted to hear for this record while Dirty Pop’s part 2 is literally my favorite remix of all the officials! It’s an EDM meets circuit hybrid mix and just absolutely NAILS IT!  Take a listen to both stellar productions!

Now on the mashup front… Well there’s my new one that I did with Matt Bailer of course (Yes that was a shameless plug) BUT have you seen/heard the Robin Skouteris mix which perfectly marries the song with Haddaway’sWhat Is Love“? Perfection!!

Finally, have you guys seen the epic remix video set to the Offer Nissim and features clips from the music vid as well as Madonna’s Grammy performance?! We can all thank DJ DigiMark for producing this little gem! I absolutely LOVE IT and so will you! Just press play…

Video Premiere: Dave Audé Ft. Jessica Sutta – I’m Gonna Get You

by: Taj | February 20th, 2015

Dave Aude and Jessica Sutta’s fun dance single “I’m Gonna Get You” not only samples a 90′s dance classic (Bizarre Inc’s song with the same titles) but the just releases video also borrows heavily from the 90s as well! The  throwback clip brings back some nostalgic memories of some of my favorite 90s acts! I’m having some C+C Music Factory and CeCe Penistan flashbacks! Check it out…

Video Premiere: Calvin Harris Ft. HAIM – Pray To God

by: Taj | February 11th, 2015

One of my two favorite tracks off of Calvin Harris’ latest albums has been officially released as a single and now has a music video! “Pray To God” featuring HAIM is by far one of the strongest tracks that Mr. Harris had to offer off of Motion and I was getting a little nervous it wouldn’t see a release!

I would best describe “Pray To God” as a Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks inspired take on EDM and it’s one of those infectious songs that instantly grabs your attention and gets stuck in your head for the rest of the day. Now if he follows this single up with “Love Now” featuring All About She all my Calvin Harris prayers will be answered!

Remix Video: Madonna – Living For Love (Taj x JRMX Mashup) DJ Riley York Version

by: Taj | February 10th, 2015

Whenever I visit Chicago, I always hit up a legendary little club called Berlin to attend a monthly event called Madonnaramma that’s spun by the very talented DJ Riley York. So I was absolutely honored when Riley took it upon himself to create a remix video for my “Living For LoveJRMX mashup using M’s just released music video! He did an amazing job as always and I will definitely be dropping this visual into my sets! Of course I’ll also be dropping the insane remix video edited by Cr@zy4Madonna as well so I guess my dance floor will be hearing/seeing a lot of this song in the coming weeks! ;) Check it out…

Video Premiere: Madonna – Living For Love

by: Taj | February 5th, 2015

Madonna has just unleashed the beast that is her new music video for her single “Living For Love“! The clip just premiered on the cellphone app Snapchat and is the first music video to ever make it’s debut on the notorious application which is usually associated with recording & sending a funny (or often scandalous) 2 second long recorded video clip that the receiving party can only view one time before it’s “erased” forever. (Unless you’ve also downloaded an app that can record the clip to your phone)

Anyhow, the video once again takes on the matador/bullfighting theme that’ve seen M has portrayed before in her iconic “Take A Bow” video and somewhat continued in her “You’ll See” clip. However, this time around Madonna has flipped the script and has taken on the roll of the matador that’s wrestling the beast into submission. The entire video plays out on a theater type stage where Madonna tangos (well not literally, but she does dance) with her minotaurs male dancers. I’m guessing we’re going to see a lot of similar costumes & choreography at the Grammys this Sunday.

And let’s talk about that Friedrich Nietzsche quote that the video close with;

“Man is the cruelest animal. At tragedies, bullfights, and crucifixions he has so far felt best on earth; and when he invented hell for himself, behold, that was his very heaven.”

Ending the clip with such a profound statement makes it clear that the entire message behind the song and imagery delves far beyond the obvious theme of a relationship gone sour. It’s a metaphor for something much bigger… The struggle to hold on to faith and love in a world that’s currently so consumed with so much chaos and darkness. Either that or she just really, really, really loves a good matador costume!

Check out the new vid and let me know if you’re “living” for it…

Video Premiere: Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney – FourFiveSeconds

by: Taj | February 4th, 2015

So according to Rihanna’s Vevo page which just debuted the video for the song “FourFiveSeconds“… This song IS in fact the first single from her forthcoming album. Ummmm… It’s a little left-field for sure. I DO like the song… First single “like”?! Hell no! RIH-diculous choice! The video is pretty simple like the song … But for some reason I do have the sudden urge to go out and buy a Guess denim jacket after watching it!

Gwen Stefani is moving on pretty fast from her first dud of a single “Baby Don’t Lie” and has just released the music video her much more radio friendly follow up, “Spark The Fire“. Fun song, fun video… But will this do the trick?! The Pharrell produced track is definitely taylor made for the clubs so I’m hoping people give it more of a chance than her first  go. Check it out..

Video Premiere: J Lo Ft. Iggy Azalea – Booty (Remix)

by: Taj | September 18th, 2014

Finally J Lo has dropped the music video for her Diplo produced single “Booty” which also features an ass-tastic cameo by Iggy Azalea. The steamy video is pretty simple and cuts right to the chase… J Lo and Iggy are faux lezzies that are really into  anal.…  At least I think that’s the point of this video. Right???

Video Premiere: Havana Brown – BaBing

by: Taj | September 9th, 2014

Havana Brown is pulling out all the stops with an edgy new single and steamy music video titled “BaBing“! At first listen I loved the production of the song right off the bat but was a little concerned that Havana may be partaking in a  bit of Luciana swagger jacking… But then I discovered that Queen Luciana actually co-wrote the song and all was right in the world again! Check it out…

Video Premiere: Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj – Bang Bang

by: Taj | August 26th, 2014

Jessie J’s channels her inner Christina Aguilera for the “Bang Bang” music video (A.K.A. “Lady Marmalade 2.0“) as she struts her stuff in the streets accompanied by a gaggle of female dancers a-la Christina’sCan’t Hold Us Down“. Usually I would be bothered by such blatant swag jagging but I actually love this song and the video doesn’t bother me. Why wouldn’t these hot new pop vixens try to replicate the flawless formula of “Lady Marmalade“?! Gotta hand it to them, they did a pretty amazing job! Check it out…

Video Premiere: Taylor Swift – Shake It Off

by: Taj | August 18th, 2014

Taylor Swift has finally completely ditched the country girl-next-door bit and has just released a straight forward pop record titled “Shake It Off” where she doesn’t even try to pull off a down-home twang. While the video is very tongue-in-cheek and portrays Taylor posing in different dance themed scenes in a poking fun type of way, the song itself seems like a serious attempt to go even more mainstream with her sound than any of her previous efforts. Yes, both “Trouble” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” were both pretty solid pop records as well but I feel like she tried to retain some of her country appeal vocally in those two previous hits where as in this song you may have never known it was Taylor Swift had you not been told before hand. I will say that though I’m not really a fan of Mrs. Swift, this song is a lot more likable for me right off that bat than the songs I already mentioned above. Take a listen to “Shake It Off” and let me know if you are feeling it…
