Leona Lewis surprised concert goers attending her concert at the 02 Arena in London when she brought Matthew Morrison (Star of Glee) out on stage to perform a duet version of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow“!! Coincidently enough, rumors have been circulating this week that Leona will make a guest appearance on the show next season. Was this performance her “audition” of sorts?!! Check it out…
Ryan Tedder is blabbing to the media yet again and is blaming Leona Lewis for the disappointing performance of the latest single that he wrote for her. Tedder is convinced that “Happy” failed to make impact in the US market because Leona didn’t promote it properly in the United States.
“In the US, unless you’re Justin Timberlake or Beyoncé, you cannot put out a song and not be in the country when it comes out,”
Tedder was hoping to see the same success with “Happy” that Leona accomplished with her debut single “Bleeding Love,” which he also wrote.
“Leona was gone for six weeks when ‘Happy’ came out because she was promoting the record in other countries – it wasn’t her fault; she couldn’t be two places in once. I had radio stations telling me that they thought ‘Happy’ was the single biggest ballad they’d come across in ten years, but that if Leona didn’t come over here and promote it, it was going to fall.”
However, Tedder didn’t completely blame Leona on the single’s poor performance… He also blames Lady Gaga.
“On top of that, America’s consumed with Lady GaGa and dance music right now, so it’s not the best time for ballads anyway”, he said. “When everything on the radio is blasting out at 120 bpm, a song like ‘Happy’ almost sounds out-of-place.”
As much as I love “Happy” and do think that it’s a great song… I find it funny how he’s blaming everyone else and just can’t fathom that maybe this song wasn’t as strong a production than some of his other works. Someone needs to eat a slice of humble pie!
Leona Lewis – Happy:
Just call me DJ Taj the myth buster because that’s basically what I’ve been doing all week. LOL…
So there have been stories spreading like wild-fire all over the Internet about Leona Lewis collaborating with Kings of Leon for the re-release of her Echo album this week but as much as I want this one to be true… it’s simply not. Kings of Leon have discounted the rumors themselves by writing this statement to their fans;
“Contrary to reports out there Kings Of Leon are not writing or recording with Leona Lewis. No offense to her.”
Sorry guys… But there still lies hope with another Leona Lewis collaboration rumor. Supposedly Simon Cowell is trying to hook Leona up with Robbie Williams for a little duet singing action. So far that rumor has yet to be discounted but I haven’t looked into it that hard yet either. Believe me, I’ll get to the bottom of that one as well…
Leona Lewis is prepping to take the next big step in her career and transition herself into a big-screen actress. Many pop artists have attempted this feat in the past but Leona will have an edge than many others did not… The guidance of blockbuster film director, James Cameron. According to Hollywood insiders… After Leona contributed the theme song and music video to James‘ Avatar movie, she made quite an impression on him and he believes that she possesses that star quality that makes for a strong leading actress. James is now reportedly very interested in developing Leona’s performance skills for film.
The man who attacked Leona Lewis during her book signing a few months back, Peter Kowalczyk, has pleaded guilty to assulting Leona and has been ordered to remain in a mental hospital for an indeterminate period of time. The sad part is that Peter is schizophrenic and had stopped taking his meds when he punched Leona in the face. Leona issued this statement at the time;
“I feel completely devastated by this attack. Now I am very frightened about going out in public and I don’t know where the next attack will come from and if this will be more serious than what has just happened.”
During the sentencing, District Judge Howard Riddle scolded Kowalczyk and reminded him the severity of his condition;
“This is what happens when you don’t take your medication. A woman is now devastated.”
This is pretty cool… Someone made a video to my Leona Lewis/Coldplay mashup that I produced a while back. I found this on the youtube profileLeona Lewis Fan… Go check them out on youtube for more Leona Lewis remix vid’s.
I don’t really follow the UK’s X-Factor since I live across the ocean in the United States, but this year I couldn’t help but keep tabs on one of the contestants… The ridiculously talented (and extremely handsome) Danyl Johnson. This guy is the best talent the show has seen since Leona Lewis and unfortunatly, he was eliminated tonight!!! WTF!!! I know the UK is in just as much shock as I am…
Check out his last two perfromances on the show. MJ’s “Man in the Mirror” and Whitney’s “I Have Nothing“.
Leona Lewis is one artist that really has people picking the right songs to release off of her album. Her first single “Happy” has already conquered Europe but is currently still climbing the US charts… Her second overseas single, “Outta My Head,” is frickin’ awesome and has always been a “stand-out” off of the album. However, today I learned that “Outta My Head” will NOT be Leona’s second US single … Instead she has opted for the other stand-out track off of the record, “I Got U” to be the US follow-up to “Happy“. I love both songs and I’m glad that they are both getting an official release… But I do hope that she ends up releasing “OMH” as her third single here in the US.

Leona Lewis – Outta My Head (2nd European Single):
The demo version of this beautiful song called “Gravity” leaked a while back with writer/producer, Ryan Tedder, on vocals. Well, It seems that song has finally found an “owner” and has been recorded by Nikki Flores. Although she doesn’t have the powerhouse vocals like Leona Lewis or Kelly Clarkson (And you can’t help but make the comparison when you hear this one)… She still did a pretty decent job on the song. Check it…
Nikki Flores – Gravity:
I couldn’t be happier with Leona Lewis’ choice for her next single off of her Echo album. “Outta My Head” is hands down my favorite track on the album and is different from anything else that she’s ever done before. LOVE THIS SONG!!!
Leona Lewis – Outta My Head:
PS…. In other Leona news, Mrs. Lewis is currently recording the theme song to the Avatar movie. The song is said to be called “I See You” and was produced by James Horner and Simon Franglen… The same guys who gave us Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On“. Uh Oh… Do I hear a Leona Lewis “classic” coming our way????
If you’re a Leona Lewis fan AND a gamer… You’re about to have an orgasm so go grab a towel! Leona Lewis’ song “My Hands” has been picked up as the new theme song to the 13th installment of the wildly popular video game series, Final Fantasy. If you’re not a gamer… The Final Fantasy series is MASSIVE across the globe so this is a huge deal for Leona! Congrats!!
