Ne-Yo spoke to Hello Beautiful this week to address rumors about being engaged and his sexuality… Basically, Ne-Yo cleared up the engagement rumor, saying that he is NOT engaged to be married but he is expecting a baby with his best friend (who happens to be a female). He then goes on to proclaim that he will no longer defend himself against gay rumors because he can’t prove to the people that don’t believe he’s straight that he likes woman…
I don’t think living out the Madonna/Rupert Everett movie The Next Best Thing is gonna help your case bud…
Happy birthday Jane Lynch!!! The woman who plays my favorite character on Glee (Sue Sylvester) is celebrating her 50th b-day today! Jane says that rather than making a huge hoopla over the event, she plans on having a low-key pizza party for a massive guest-list of nine people! LOL! In homage of Jane’s big day, check out this behind the scenes look at the making of Sue Sylvester’s viral “Vogue” music video that Jane starred in for the Madonna episode of Glee.
Janet Jackson sat down with CNN to promote her Essence Music Festival gig this week and spoke candidly about an array of serious subjects including the gulf oil spill & AIDS. Janet is one of those rare celebrities that has always maintained a level of sincerity and compassion for others through out her entire career. It’s no wonder why so many love this woman.
Ever since Chris Brown’s moving performance on the BET Awards where he broke down into tears during his Michael Jackson tribute, there have been a lot of speculation and rumors floating around online that the struggling pop star faked the tears to help revive his failing career. There’s one story going around that rapper Llyod told Chris to cry before his performance while other reports claim that Chris was seen putting “tear inducing” eye-drops in his eyes right before his “Man In The Mirror” performance to fabricate the water-works. Seems like the poor guy just can’t gain the trust of the public & media no matter what he does! Since these stories have surface, Llyod has gone on the record to debunk rumors that he suggested “crying” to Brown and more recently, BET’s VP Stephen Hill made this statement defending Chris‘ performance as being authentic.
“I think the pressure of the year and the lyrics of that song really just resonated. And, as someone who was backstage, there was nothing fake about that. I think there is a US Weekly story today about like his bodyguard gave him something to induce tears. Its just not true. I’ve been around actors who cry and when you fake cry, you don’t get…your throat doesn’t get swollen like it does [when you cry for real]. When he was trying to sing, he couldn’t get anything out. That’s a hard thing to fake. I appreciate people wanting to create controversy, but this guy has gone though a lot this past year, let this emotion be what it is. Everybody comes to the moment where you gotta make that change.”
I think he hit it right on the nose!! I think besides finally being able to pay tribute to MJ after being denied last year, the lyrics to “Man In The Mirror” were very profound and meaningful to Chris‘ own life. They speak to the trials and tribulations that singer has been made to endured over the last year as a result of the reproductions of his actions. Heck, I think I would have cried watching him sing that song if he didn’t break down!!
I also agree with Stephan that you just can’t fake the kind of guttural crying. I mean, anyone who’s seen the movie Stomp The Yard knows Chris‘ acting abilities… He’s definitely not that good!
Austrailian pop has-been icon Helen Reddy who is best known for her girl power anthem “I Am Woman” has recently spoke out against Madonna in an interview, blaming her fellow pop icon for making young girls want to dress like prostitutes.
Apparently, the scathing rant came after Reddy embarked on a recent shopping trip to buy a bra but couldn’t find a style that fit because they were all too racy. Somehow, this is all Madonna’s fault according to Helen;
“I was in London earlier this year, and I had to get some new bras – because (mine) were falling off me. I go into the women’s lingerie department, and they’ve got pasties – you know, like strippers wear. They’ve got all these little fancy things, which all have wires – which I believe cause breast cancer – but nothing that’s for women who are older, or who are heavier, or who would like to dress like a lady…
“When I was a girl, we used to complain we were divided into two groups: We were either virgins or we were whores. And then along came Madonna – and now we’re all whores. It is horrifying to me to see these little girls, you know, dressed as sexpots, trying to imitate the latest video they’ve seen.”
Funny that the out of touch singer blames Madonna for this “whorish” trend when Madge dresses more and more conservative as she gets older. I can think of a few other younger artists that would be more sense to single out other than Madonna. (See post below) Madonna’s camp actually made a statement to address Helen’s comments and I have to say that in if this was a “bitch-off” competition … Madonna’s camp wins!! LOL!
“Why should Madonna be blamed for Helen Reddy not being able to find a good-fitting bra?… I know plenty of whores who wear sports bras instead of bustiers. Don’t judge a book, Helen.”
I’m gonna kill two birds with one stone and post both Christina Aguilera’s new Entertainment Tonight interview in which she talks about new album, new movie and her sexed up image along with the newly released promo picture stills from from her first featured film, Burlesque. It’s nice to see Xtina wearing her hair down in the interview… It seems like almost every promotional apperence she’s made latley, she’s worn her hair in some sort of up ‘do.
Rapper T.I. stopped by Chelsea Lately to promote all of his new projects and got an ear full from the always hilarious Chelsea. Watch this extremely funny interview in which Chelsea pokes fun of the rapper about his time in prison, their (non-existent) relationship and other hilarious shenanigans ….
Um… This is kind of shocking. Eminem apperently says that he supports gay marraige. In a recent interview, Em was asked what he thought if gay marriage were to be approved in Michigan, where he lives. The rapper who has been known for writing some scathing gay-bashing lyrics had this to say on the matter;
“I think if two people love each other, then what the hell? I think that everyone should have the chance to be equally miserable, if they want. “
Hmmm… So unexpected that I almost don’t believe him. But hey, I have to give him the benefit of the doubt I guess.
Check out this lil’ interview I did tonight on 2 Cents with Aaron Heire. I was a nervous wreck but other than coming off like the big geek that I am, I think I somehow pulled it off… Thanks Aaron for going easy on me!!! LOL!
While promoting his soon to be released new album, rapper Drake is opening up about his very brief relationship with Rihanna and basically accuses her of using him! Drake says that the two started quietly dating after Rihanna approached him to write a song for her new album. They kept a low profile about the relationship and as soon as the song was done… So was Rihanna.
“I was a pawn… You know what she was doing to me? She was doing exactly what I’ve done to so many women throughout my life, which is show them quality time, then disappear,” he said. “I was like, wow, this feels terrible.”
The sad part is that Rihanna didn’t even use Drake’s song on the album. Maybe she dumped him because he sucks as a song writer…. Boo, hoo!!
