Check out a very skinny Jennifer Hudson on the cover of Michigan Avenue! I didn’t even recognize her! She’s come a long way from the over weight little girl with the big voice that got kicked off American Idol! What an amazing transformation!

Now that J Lo is out of the picture, Mariah Carey is voicing interest (through her husband) in filling one of the empty chairs on American Idol’s judging panel! Billboard magazine recently caught up with Nick Cannon (Mariah’s hubby) and asked the host of America’s Got Talent if Mariah was ever apporached for the gig… This is what he had to say;

“You know what? She talks about it. She says, “I would love to do that.” She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great. I don’t know if she has enough time, though, but if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do “Idol.”

Could you imagine sassy Mariah making faces as some poor kid butchers one of her songs?!! Now THAT show I would actually tune in to see!

Looks like Jennifer Lopez’ plans to steal Kara DioGuardi’s seat on American Idol’s judging panel have not panned out after all. According to rumors, Lopez was oh-so close to nabbing the spot but ultimately failed to secure it because her demands during negotiations were reportedly “out of hand” and Fox simply “had enough” with her outlandish expectations. Rumors of Lopez being a demanding diva have long followed her since the beginning of her career. If the rumors are true and she lost Idol for this reason… I think it’s a total shame that she has an inflated sense of self-worth that’s keeping her from scoring gigs that would actually keep her relevant.

It’s AMAZING to me the amount of press/promotion this woman has been getting over the last year without a proper album to promote. She should really give her manager a raise! Word on the street is that Jenn has sealed the deal with American Idol and will definitely be a new judge next season. Guess that means we’ll be seeing a whole lot more of her!

The enevitable has finally happened… Kara DioGuardi has been fired from American Idol. She was never a fan favorite and only lasted on the show for 2 seasons but I kinda liked her. Still, it was obvious that she wasn’t fitting in well with the direction of the show so this comes as no surprise. According to TMZ, the show is going back to its 3 judge panel and as of now those judges are rumored to be Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler & Randy Jackson. Randy Jackson stands as the last surviving original judge… No offense to Mr. Jackson, but he is the most useless/least interesting judge on the show so I wouldn’t be surprised if he was next to get a pink slip. Replace him with Kanye West!!!  Now THAT show I would watch!

So in case you haven’t already heard… Ellen DeGeneres has decided to bow out of her role as a judge on American Idol panel after only one year! She made the official announcement today and told Fox producers that she didn’t feel like the right fit for the show…

“I loved discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings.”

It has been made official yet but Ellen will supposedly be replaced by Jennifer Lopez. If this is true (which most likely it is considering the sources) I think she is the perfect replacement! No word as of yet who is replacing Simon Cowell but today the rumor mill was buzzing about Aerosmith front man, Steven Tyler. To be honest, I could care less about this show anymore now that Simon is starting X Factor in the US. I will be tuning in to that  show instead!

Here’s your first look at Jennifer Hudson as Winnie Mandela is her no movie, a biopic called “Winnie“. Terrance Howard (who is also featured in the pic) will play her husband, Nelson Mandela. Do I smell Oscar #2 for the gifted singer/actress?!!!

American Idol runner up Crystal Bowersox has just debuted a new look on her Twitter today. Do you see the difference in the “before” and “after” pics? She fixed her grill!!! No more missing hillbilly tooth… Love the new smile!

A 2 minute 23 second clip of a new Kelly Clarkson demo track called “Shit & Fame” has leaked today! You can definitely tell that this one is still very much in demo form since her vocals are much louder than the backing track. This new leak finds Kelly back to her pop-rock sound that she’s best known for and is almost reminiscent of something off of her My December album because of it’s dark and aggressive theme. I don’t think I’ve ever heard Kelly curse so much in a song before…
