After the extremely tragic events at Sandy Hooks Elementary School last week, it should come to no surprise that Ke$ha’s latest single (unfortunately titled) “Die Young” has been pulled from most radio programer’s playlists. But according to Ke$ha herself, she is OK with the single being abandoned but not only for the obvious controversial reasons after Connecticut school shooting, but because she wasn’t a fan of the song herself. As a matter of fact, her recent post on Twitter claims that she was “forced” to sing it….
“i understand,” she tweeted. “I had my very own issue with “die young” for this reason. I did NOT want to sing those lyrics and I was FORCED TO. I’m so so so sorry for anyone who has been effected by this tragedy.and I understand why my song is now inappropriate. words cannot express.”
Kudos to her for being so responsible and accepting the idea that the song could be construed as lyrically insensitive at this time… Personally, I do not find it offensive but I know some people close to the tragic incident might. But putting that aside, it sounds like there was a lot of behind-the-scenes drama surrounding the single before it was even released! I’m really intrigued to know what she meant by her saying she was “forced” to sing it. Did the Illuminate (that the video for the song supposedly represents) force her to sing the lyrics before she sacrificed a baby lamb to Satan?! I’m hoping she opens up a little more about her remarks…

No comment about the song being pulled from the radio.. but I call bullshit on her saying she was forced. Kesha has been her own force of nature for how long? Tweeted pictures of her giving oral sex etc.. but yet somehow she was FORCED to sing a song she didnt want to sing.. I call bullshit

Her as a personality and her as a music artist on a major label are two different things. She is probably telling the truth. The record company probably got the demo and was like, “want this to be a single for you”. “Forced” may be a little strong but I wouldn’t be surprised if singles and single choice are out of her hands in most cases. It’s not like Britney has total control over that herself, and she’s been around for years.

Here in an interview she is totally defending it and taking a lot of credit.. so again I call bullshit..

Basically my first impression was right those early interviews seem very sincere and genuine but her most recent comments seem out of character for her and totally back-peddling.. so yea.. she is lying now

I joked about Illuminate in my post, but now her MOM has retweeted a few comments that fans have tweeted about the song being pulled. One of which where a fan eludes that once you “expose the Illuminate” they try to destroy your career. I’m not a believer of the Illuminate conspiracy theories but apparently her mom is!

^ that’s crazy! Kesha deleted her tweet about being forced to sing it so I’m guessing her label’s not too happy with her.

I doubt she was forced to sing it, but the song along with the new album is hot regardless if she had to sing it or not.
