Thank you Lord almighty for putting Madonna with a record label that actually cares about promoting her career properly! The same week that her top ten hit “Gimme All Your Luvin’” plummets down the charts to #39 on Billboard’s Hot 100, Interscope made the wise decision to jump ahead to Madge’s next single – The Benny Benassi produced “Girls Gone Wild“!!! While I really enjoyed the campy 80′s vibe of “…Luvin’,” “Girls Gone Wild” is definitely a fresher “electro” sound for Madonna and is better equipped for the current dance-pop radio market. I’m definitely ‘going wild‘ for single #2 which is making me ever more eager to hear the rest of the MDNA album which apparently will include another track that Benassi produced called “I’m Addicted“.
And by the way, I have to say that I’m a little shocked that Madge went the literal route with the imagery for the single artwork. But hey – If you still have it, flaunt it I guess…
Take a listen to “Girls Gone Wild” and tell me if you’re back into Madonna’s groove with this one…

WOW! Madonna and Benassi really are a great team! I liked Solveig’s track, but something about it kept me from really loving it. Now THIS track I LOVE and it makes me even MORE excited to hear what the rest of the album will sound like!

Oh dear..lol. Can we spell AIR BRUSHING?? I’m not hating though, because you can’t pick up a magazine these days and see a cover without air brushing done.
The song isn’t really grabbing me, but who knows it ‘might’ grow on me. We’ll see!

Everyone keeps bringing up the airbrushing thing… What pop star album/single cover art isn’t airbrushed and photoshopped these days?? And we all saw her Super Bowl halftime show recently… She looks pretty fucking amazing for 53. She works out rigorously and has her entire career… She eats right, barely drinks, doesn’t do drugs… She has worked very hard to look the way she does. Give her some props people… I hope I can look as good when I’m 53.

Putting the lyrics on the video only make you notice how inane they are even more. I have never understood why madonna’s lyrics are always so juvenile, making stuff she did over a decade ago sound more mature.

The title of the song has changed from “Girls” to “Girl Gone Wild” as noted on the artwork. Also the lyrics changed to avoid a possible lawsuit from the “Girl Gone Wild” creator

I’m getting pretty damn tired of jealous petty people going on and on and on about how her pictures are photoshopped. We all photoshop our pictures, even for Facebook. As Taj pointed out about the Superbowl performance, that was Madge live in action. It was not airbrushed or photoshopped in any way, it was a live performance. And she looked fucking awesome. As for me, I’m 41, and most people still think I’m in my 20s so some people just look young. And stop hating on us if we do.

Ummm, put the claws away folks. I did say “NOT HATING” after the airbrushing comment.
As for the Superbowl, I’m not touching that one.
I’d rather focus on the quality of the music. I heard one of the official remixes today, and now I actually like the song! The original doesn’t do it for me and I figured out why. It reminds me too much of “Celebration” which was also produced by Benny, and it has that annoying crunchy synth in there. I didn’t care for his remix of Celebration, nor do I like his original of this song. The remix that Justin Cognito did is HOT though!

I’m a Madonna fan & i will say that at first i was alil’ hesitant, i wasn’t sure on how i felt about GGW but after listening to it for awhile, having it on repeat, i can say that i genuinely enjoy the song alot.
i wouldn’t say it’s Madonna’s best but i will say that it’s definitely a grower.
i’m pretty sure it was Madonna’s intention for ppl to just get up & dance & enjoy the song as pure pop-dance fun:)
