AND SHE IS EFFEN AMAZING!!!! Alice Tan Ridley, mother of Precious star and Academy Award-nominee, Gabourey Sidibe, has been singing in the New York subway stations for 18 years!!! Even after her daughter’s new found fame and fortune… Alice continues to sing under the streets of New York because she loves what she does and she refuses to take hand outs from her children. WOW… what a powerful message and life long lesson she’s teaching her kids. Must be a very humbling experience for her daughter.
