Remix Treatment: Adam Lambert – For Your Entertainment (Remixes)

Today has turned out to be American Idol day on my blog… Earlier this morning I posted the new Blake Lewis club single “Heartbreak on Vinyl” and now I’ve obtained the new Adam Lambert remixes for his first single “For Your Entertainment.” These mixes might have been more useful around a month ago when the song was getting a lot of attention in the media but better late than never I guess. Although I’m not a huge fan of Mr. Lambert and his vocal acrobats… I must admit that all of the remixes for his debut single are pretty damn good. I’m especially feeling the Bimbo Jones, Nick Fonzerelli & Brad Walsh remixes.

  • RandomizeME Says:

Thanks for posting this! I remember asking you last November about remixes for FYE.

I hope that iTunes releases the remixes soon *g* I’m digging the remixes more than the original.

  • Sara Says:

Thanks for posting these remixes. My favourite is the remix by Brad Walsh, mostly because he used the vocals in a nice way and kept an intersting beat. The Forenzelli mix was also interesting.

I thought the others were a bit monotonous. I liked j Escape & Johnny Vicious Pop Remix but it felt too slow somehow.

  • Greeta Says:

The Bimbo Jones mix is HOT!

  • Patti Says:

OMG! Brad Walsh, you are a genius!

  • shoustar Says:

I really hope these are released on iTunes in the future. I’d love to download and jam to them!

  • Tim Says:

Lamberts vocals are out of this world, too bad you don’t see it…like the original better than the remixes.

  • santabillie Says:

awesome, I hope they become available for download

  • MidnightWhispers Says:

@Roger if you have real player program you can download these songs and then burn them onto a CD! I downloaded the Pop version which I liked the best!

  • MidnightWhispers Says:

@Tim I agree with you and I love ADAM’s version better but the Pop one is the closest to it so I can deal with it! LOL

  • susan Says:

Good try but the original is the best. However, they were all fun to listen to. Like the last one (Brad Walsh)

  • Leigh Says:

All the remixes are fun – probably like Brad Walsh’s the best. And it’s funny Taj’s writing about Lambert’s “vocal acrobatics” when the latter’s most famous performance is “Mad World.”
P.S. Check out Lambert’s “Soaked” at Gridlock – amid the fireworks he does this emotional blockbuster brilliantly. Guy can go bonkers like on DTRH and Fever and then turn around and come up with the complete opposite.

  • JLM Says:

I really prefer the original because Adam Lambert’s vocals are just stellar, but I do like the last two as well. The Gridlock vidoes by aireference are really decent and Adam was fantastic!!

  • Whammy Says:

I think the original is killer, but these are fun, too. I like the Pop version best, though.

  • Jill Says:

That Fonzarelli joint makes me wanna drink scotch and party – and Brad Walsh’s is creepy and hot!

  • Si Says:

    All good.

  • aim Says:

I really love them all! But, I would have to say that my fav is Bimbo Jones Remix. When the song hits 3:46 it start to climb into a musical multiple orgasm. ;)

  • Carrie Says:

Some of them are great for their intended purpose but none of them make as good listening as the original.

  • PSILU Says:

These mixes would have been more useful a month ago?

Yet another one who thinks the US is the be all and end all.

Remixes of any track go down better in Europe than they ever do in the States.

  • Taj Says:

Well, since it was released in the US more than a month ago… And he is an US artist off of an a television show called “AMERICAN Idol”… And we have clubs/DJ’s/dance music enthusiasts here in the US, I don’t think my comment was elitist or suggesting that the US is “be all and end all.” I simply am stating that releasing the remixes in a timely matter would only better promote the song in that specific market. (The US) What is wrong with that? You’re a Lambert fan… Why would you not want his single to be promoted properly here in the US as well? It would only benefit him.

  • tsimms Says:

Brad Walsh is a Genius! Love it!

  • tuke18 Says:

    I’m team Brad Walsh!!

  • Damn_Gina Says:

f*ckinn hottt bimbo Jones where can I download this ????

  • media bias Says:

When you are going to take a shot at a hugely popular, hardworking and gifted singer for no reason at all, it would serve you well to at least get your freaking English skills in order.

acrobats? Or are you just a lazy blogger who can’t be bothered proofreading since you can get cheap hits using an artists’ name regardless of your content?

  • media bias Says:

Wait, yr a straight guy linking his blog to a gay site? Oh I get you now. That’s why your Adam Lambert tags have worthless entries. Like ignoring the Morning Jolt interview with Larry Flick and completely ignoring the GLAAD fiasco with ABC. Thanks, I’ll stick with the home page & Queerty.

  • adamsmadam Says:

Team Bimbo, hands down!!!! awesome…this is what Adam needs to be doing the FIRST time around!!

  • Taj Says:

    Get it together nut job…

#1 – I’m gay!!!! No where did in my blog do I even elude to being straight. Just because I said a female looks hot in a pictorial does not equate to me playing straight. Read this post about Mark Salling: http://mosuniverse.com/blogs/taj/2009/12/mark-salling-of-glee-records-a-tribute-to-his-cast/ Does that sounds like something a straight guy would write???

#2 – All I said about Adam is that I’m “not a huge fan” of his singing… Since when is that considered bashing? its not as if I said something harsh and disrespectful such as; “he fucking sucks” or accused him of being talentless. I simply said that I, personally, am NOT a fan. So I guess what you’re saying is that if I don’t enjoy an artist’s music or their vocals, I’m not allowed to voice that opinion (even respectfully) or else it may be construed as me “bashing them”!!? Really? Sounds like you have a complex about your own sexuality, buddy.

#3 – I always give credit when credit is due… The second half of the sentence that you have your panties in bunch over I actually give the guy a complement. I stated that though I’m not a fan of his, I think these remixes are “pretty damn good.” Why are you so quick to only see the negative and blow it way out of proportion?

#4 – I am not a professional blogger. I NEVER claimed to be a serious journalist. I am simply a DJ with a love of music that owns a CASUAL blog where I can post songs and voice my opinion about them. I do not get paid to do this and I have 2 jobs and other hobbies so I do not have ALL DAY to focus only on this project… You’re gonna get you grammar/spelling errors… In other words, I have a life so maybe you might wanna consider getting one too instead of “bashing” a hard working music enthusiast who’s only crime is not sharing the same opinion as your own. FAIL!!!

I really enjoyed all remixes! I’m glad this link was posted in AO because after watching the vids from Gridlock and listening to this good work my day is complete.
@Taj the same people that post rude comments in this and other sites also come to AdamOfficial acting like they are Adam’s fans. Their only objective is stir things up and make real Adam fans to look bad. You were just giving your opinion like everyone else.
BTW where or how can I download this music? I boomarking this anyways.

  • karrie Says:

@Taj Thanks for your comments to MediaBias. You have no idea how right you are! She always has her panties in a bunch over something and the most accurate description of her I have heard yet is where you say “Why are you so quick to only see the negative and blow it way out of proportion?” That is totally MediaBias in a nutshell. She is always dressing down someone for something she perceives as offensive or something not to her personal liking. She runs all over everyone all the time. So glad you finally put her in her proper place! and this comes from an Adam Lambert Fan who is tired of her always telling everyone what they can say or cannot say! Thanks! ;D

  • Superman Says:

Hey Taj! It was GREAT seeing you while you were in Chicago! I think it’s time you start producing your own mixes. I know you can! And I know of a certain record store that would LOVE to sell your CDs! Also, I read the whole shpeel with you and that “Media Bias” SKANK, and all I can say is that I picture her to be an awfully-dressed drag queen with running mascara, lipstick on her teeth, a fucked up weave, some outfit she picked up at the salvation army doorstep, orange-pink shoes and parents she refers to as “uncle dad” and “aunt mom”. So pay no attention to “it” anymore ;-) YOU ROCK, TAJ!!!

  • Kate Says:

I love them all! I’d listen to anything that Adam is singing–I am that crazy about his voice. FYE was already a great dance tune but these are also great to dance to. Get it out there…cause we want Adam to soar in 2010!

VH1 took down the FYE video off the countdown (they are nuts!)…so, let’s help bring back FYE song and video for Adam because it’s so damn good.

  • Devon Says:

I enjoyed them all! I hope “Whataya Want from Me” and “Pick U Up” get remixed.

  • terie Says:

Thank you for posting these remixes for ‘know nothings’ like me. I don’t know that much about today’s music … I just know that I LOVE ADAM and I follow wherever his name appears. Never heard of a remix until now but I like them … the first one was a little too slow in the beginning for me but all in all each had it’s own likeability (hope I spelled it right)? Once again, thank you for taking an interest in ADAM and keeping his fans happy.

  • jaberone Says:

If any of these remixes are played alot…who gets the profit from them? Does ADAM get paid or get the recognition that he deserves from them?? Or does he get nothing from them!!!

I love ADAM’s original version first and foremost!

I can see Bimbo Jones’ remix going over really well at clubs because of the exciting dance sound that it has. You can’t help but move and dance to it..very upbeat.

The other one that I like is Nick Fonzerelli’s remix, but it doesn’t have the upbeat sound to it. It didn’t make me want to dance!!!

ADAM sounds good on both remixes (as he always does).

I didn’t care much for the others… ADAM’s voice didn’t stand out with the music as it should!

What does ADAM think about these remixes? Does anyone know? Would love to hear his thoughts on them.

  • Taj Says:

The way remixes work these days is that the remix producers are commissioned one upfront fee for their work. They don’t get royalties or anything every time it’s played or for every unit of the remix they sell. But then again, neither does Adam every time the original version is played in the radio. He makes his money off of touring and albums/singles sold. So in a sense, if they release these mixes on a single and it takes off… Adam does get paid for them!

  • Slick Says:

Taj, thanks for the this fun post. It’s so nice of you to let us enjoy more Adam although you’re not a fan of him. I hope someday Adam will change your mind. Anyway, as much as all these are done so well, I prefer the original song. I’m having trouble with speed of the beat on most of them. His vocal is too slow for the faster beat. On Brad Walsh’s remix, the speed works, but there’s some breath issue that needed to be edited out.

  • Ilia Says:

I love the whoever posted these leaks. It will take iTunes forever to put these remixes up for download. Thank you so much!!!

Taj – I respect your opinion but just curious…What planet do you live on? How can you say Adam Lambert can not sing….my God….his vocals are amazing….Not many men can do 5 octives like him with no problem going from tenor to falsetto without a break in between….This is a quote from a professional opera trainer…he has a very rare gift…If you don’t like him don’t read his blogs or post…Why waste your time…I can smell a troll from afar…

  • Jenn Says:

Like Walsh and Fonzerelli best. The original is good too. These are fun!!

  • Taj Says:

@katmorgan… I never said Adam can’t sing. He’s a very talented singer. I’m just not a fan of his voice and the way he uses it stylistically. It’s OK guys that not EVERYONE is a big fan of your Adam. That’s what makes the world go round… Diversity!! Jesus, I’ve never met such delusional fanatics in my life. I posted an exclusive for you guys to hear that you couldn’t hear anywhere else on the Internet… Said I’m not a fan but I like these mixes and some of you guys are acting as if I said something HORRIBLE about him. Grow up!

  • Micki Says:

@Taj — After reading the comments, I personally want to give you a big thanks & virtual hug for posting these remixes!!! I am a huge Adam fan, and while I enjoyed the original most, I still really liked these (1.Walsh, 2.Fonzerelli, 3.Tribal, 4.Pop, 5.Jones).

It bothers me that a small number of people are complaining because you don’t hold our views. I can only hope they misunderstood what you said. My husband likes tearjerker ballads in any genre, which isn’t my thing, but I’d be annoyed as hell if someone accused me of saying the artists couldn’t sing because of that.

I for one REALLY APPRECIATE that you’ve posted these, and am all-the-more appreciative since you said he’s not really your thing. That means you’re posting this for the benefit of those of us who are fans, and I want to applaud you for it!! Please do not let the minority make you think you’re efforts are not appreciated!! They are!!

THANK YOU TAJ!!! Kudos & hugs, and a great 2010

    Micki

  • Superman Says:

HAHAHA!! I came back to check if more people had commented on your Adam LAMEbert post. At the end of the day, the people giving you shit are just so FUCKING stupid! They log on to your log, get these AWESOME remixes that they (more than anyone) should appreciate and still decide to give you grief. LOL! I think Adam’s fans are just Clay Aiken rejects. But that’s just my opinion ;-)

  • Taj Says:

@Micki… Thank u for the kind words :)

    @Superman… You’re horrible! LOL!

  • roger Says:

    @MidnightWhispers

I have the real player program but don’t know where or how to download the remixes. anybody?

  • DarkShadowsAbove Says:

Okay, so this might be a little mean, but the only remix in which the vocals sound even remotely natural is in the Brad Walsh remix. That’s mostly because the other remixes slowed him down slightly, but kept the beat at the same speed as the original recording. That being said, I don’t even like the Brad Walsh remix because it’s too much remixing with too much emphasis on that remixing. If you cut out the odd (but cool by themselves) sounds that Walsh uses for the beat, the rest of the remix would sound much better. All-in-all, the original song just can’t be beat. It’s an Adam song, which means that he perfects it before he puts it out there. There’s no need for additions or remixes. The best is in the original.

  • Sean Says:

I am sorry, but how can you keep these remixes? I tried with Real Player and can’t figure it out. If you could buy them I would, but that does not seem to be the case. Help please!

  • lulu Says:

dj bimbo’s version is the best, where can i download this?

  • Beauty Says:

Adam Lambert will probably soon have these FYE Remixes (as well as others) available commercially very soon. He tweeted about this yesterday:

Q: @adamlambert Will there b a chance for us lovers of DARK, INDUSTRIAL VOODOO to get it in the USA?

A: @cb4db64 yes darlin. It will most likely be included on an upcoming remix ep for FYE and WWFM avail in a couple months.

So if everyone can hold out until March(?), then we’ll get multiple remixes of “For Your Entertainment”, “Whataya Want From Me”, “Voodoo”, and (possibly *crosses fingers*) “Suburban Decay”!!!

  • Melissa Says:

Dear fellow Adam fans, if you dislike remixes in general, why the hell are you reading this blog?

Taj, I apologize on behalf of the batshit insane contingent. Also, “mediabias” is well known for being a dumbass on AdamOfficial.com – there’s no one more deluded or full of themselves.

  • imrah Says:

Thanks Taj for posting,I enjoy readinglistening anything Adam, you did this for his fans and we appriciate it greatly, keep them coming, disregard “mediabias”,what an dumbass and ungrateful for criticising your hard work.

  • Lanny Halick Says:

That’s the trouble with her. We will really feel sad for the wee thing. She clearly needs some type of sorting herself out or life coaching or training or something. I really liked her previous album, and I’d be really sad if we wouldn’t be hearing her amazing voice any more.
