Here’s a cool live clip of Chris Daughtry performing an acoustic cover version of Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face“. As much as I’m over the song, Chris did an amazing job transforming the song into a guitar driven ballad.

The Whitney Houstoncomeback single I’ve been writting about for weeks has just leaked!! The song is called “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” and Whitney sounds as amazing as ever. The lyrics are amazing… very true to where she is at this point of her life and career. Ladies and gentleman, please welcome back the original diva, WHITNEY HOUSTON!!

Looks like Mariah Carey isn’t the only artist to publicly slam her long-time rival (Eminem) in the form of song these says. Brooke Hogan has recorded a new track in which she puts some hardcore fightin’ words to music as well. The song is called “Ur Not That Hot” and her target is none other than Hills star and tabloid public enemy #1, Heidi Montag. If it was anyone else that she was dissin’, I might not have appreciated the song as much but since I think Heidi and Spencer are a waste of celebrity all I have to say is… Touche Brooke… Touche! (The song is actually pretty damn good too!)

American Idol alum Blake Lewis is currently in the studio hard at work on his second album which he is describing as a full on dance album! Lewis always has an electronic edge on American Idol which made him my favorite of the season. He made it all the way to the finale in his season but ended up with “runner up” status when he lost to Jordin Sparks.
The new album titled, Heartbreak on Vinyl, has a release date of Oct. 6 and will be released on the dance music label, Tommy Boy Entertainment. The album is being described as a major shift from his first pop-rock effort that faired very poorly in sales. Blake himself, describe the new record as “the culmination of over 10 years in the dance scene,” that will be “filled with electro pop goodness with melodies I cherish.”
Lewis is working with some the industry’s finest producers to create this high-energy dance record. Rodney Jerkins (Hit-maker for The Pussycat Dolls, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga) is said to be currently in the studio with Blake as well as Dave Aude, who has worked with Lewis before on a remix of the track “How Many Words” off of his last album.
When asked about the inspiration behind the new project, Lewis explained; “The music in the dance scene gets me out onto the dance floor to lose my inhibition… The title is an ode to all the record stores that have been closing down due to my industry eating itself. These are the stores that brought inspiration to all of us music lovers and have led me to make the music I create today.”
Blake couldn’t have said it any better. It’s so sad that almost ALL the record stores that i use to frequent when I first got into DJing have long since closed their doors. I think the title is a beautiful homage and shows that Blake’s connection to the dance music scene runs deep. (This isn’t like Jewel doing a dance record because it’s trendy.)
I’m really looking forward to the new album. Finally Blake Lewis will give us a record full of what he knows best - dance music! Check out this remix collaboration with David Aude off of his last album…

A few days ago I posted a low quality recording of superstar Dj/Producer Peter Rauhofer’s remix of the new Whitney Houston track, “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength“. The song hasn’t even hit radio airwaves yet and lucky club-goers got to here the remix at a New York Gay Pride event that he DJed over the weekend. Someone recorded a portion of the mix with their cell phone and posted it online as a sneak preview but the video is so low quality that it is barley audible. Lucky for us, Peter wasn’t the only DJ to premier the song in their set this weekend. Legendary DJ Junior Vasquez also obtained the acapella to the new Whitney Houston tune and layered the vocals over some house beats twice over the weekend while spinning at his Gay Pride Event. Even luckier for us is the fact that someone recorded the song in it’s ENTIRETY and in much higher sound quality! You can actually hear Mrs. Houston’s vocals and from what I can tell… the song sounds like classic Whitney! Alright, enough with the sneak previews!!! Give us the damn song already!!!
YOUTUBE DISABLED THE EMBEDDING OPTION SO YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE VIDEO AT THIS LINK!
Here’s some behind the scenes footage of Mariah Carey filming her man-drag portions of the “Obsessed” music video. Pretty funny… she totally has the hood-rat mannerisms down. This just may very well be Mariah Carey’s finest acting venture to date!! lol. Oh, she has confirmed that she is NOT portraying Eminem as previously rumored. She video is supposedly suppose to be a recreation of a movie called “Kings of Comedy“ that starred Jerry Lewis & Robert DeNiro. Hmmm…
Here’s the latest vid called “Radar” from good ol’ Britney. I wasn’t too thrilled she released this song and it seems to be flying “radar” on radio. While the video is visually pleasing to to the eye and Brit looks damn good in it… over all I think it’s a little on the boring side and does little to help promote the track. Next album please…

For those of you that just can’t get enough of David Guetta’s hip hop meetsdance music productions these days… looks like you’re in store for some more hot collaboations with his soon to be releases album, One Love. The line-up includes some exciting collaborations with the likes of The Black Eyed Peas, Akon, Estelleas well as another new track with Kelly Rowland.
